thanks guys…
which means that i can just use the stock stick till it dies then replace it with another stick (sanwa, seimitsu, whatever that i could get my hands on) without having to risk damaging any other part of the MC FS right?
(in other words, broken joystick will not kill any other parts other than itself right?)
Right.
Would I be correct in assuming that if I ordered an SE stick today, there would still be the possibility of having the washer defect?
And let’s say I mod it (which won’t be immediately)…do people still have issues even after replacing everything with Sanwa parts?
Man, I wanted to get excited about this stick, but reading all this stuff makes me super nervous.
once the stick get modded, you’ll fall in love with it…
i got both (TE & SE), and im always using the SE because is smaller and it is modded with full sanwa (stick & buttons) i only use the TE for tournaments…
ps.
im buying / looking for a empty SE housing (box with pcbs)
Hey guys, anyone try their sticks on PC yet? I’d like to know which emulators are compatible with it. My CPS3 emulator works fine with it, but Kawaks doesn’t. Anyone know if Mame or anything else work? I need me some Alpha 2.
The instructions in this thread made Kawaks see my SE stick.
That is awesome. Thanks a lot!
Hey guys!
I just bought a stick (3 weeks ago) from the Madcatz online store. Everything is fine but sometimes the joystick makes a slight “popping” sound. There isn’t any resistance when it makes the sound, but it is distinct from the clicking of the joystick. I can’t reproduce the sound, it just happens randomly (usually when I’m using it intensely)
Should I be worried?
I just tried to mod my fightstick and ran into this same problem. Holding down the stick shaft with a flathead and unscrewing the ball top seemed to do nothing.
Did you end up finding out what the problem was or some other way to remove it?
Today I ran into an odd issue. My xbox 360 guide button just stopped working for no apparent reason. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I be worried?
The first stick I bought had this problem, except it never worked period. I ended up opening it up and messing with the wires and that seemed to fix it. Good luck!
My stick is about a week old right now and the MP button is starting to feel unresponsive. Plugging it into my PC and checking if the buttons are hitting correct shows me that its not always being recognized when i press it. Tapping it 3 or 4 times quickly shows it actually responding 90% of the time where as all the other buttons are showing perfect responses. Is it usually a button problem where replacing the buttons will fix it or am I going to have to call up MadCatz and have to ship it out? If its usually just a button problem I’m just gonna swap it for one of the extra buttons for now and order some replacements.

I’m sorry for this noobish question but I just need to know. The PCB is associated with the actual joystick right? So if the PCB gets scratched up, messing up turbo controls/button responses, if you replace it with a new joystick everything should work fine again?
Yeah if you swap it with a new stick it should work fine if it’s the pcb on the stick that was damaged/scratched by the whole washer issue.
Yeah same thing with my TE stick out of the box, but it was the turbo button…I opened it and played with the wires, so far so good.
Hi guys, after reading through these forums I was able to successfully mod my SE stick with sanwa parts, and so far it’s been excellent for me. However recently the PS3 Home button has simply stopped working. I tried fiddling with the unlock toggle, and opening it up for a look inside, but all I can see directly under the Home button is a circuit board, which I have no idea what could be wrong with it. This is quite annoying when it comes to jumping in and out of player messaging on PSN and network play…Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
