I just got SF4 for the PC on Tuesday, and I’m really enjoying it and trying to learn the ropes. And from trying out all the different fighters, I think I’ve chosen Sakura as my main one.
So I have been trying to do the Trials, and this will probably make me sound like a complete noob, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t get the (in air) Hurricane Kick to work…is there some sort of special timing to it? =/
Also, it’s probably the special move right after that one, but what is the move that she uses when she "jumps up in the air forward, then lands with a skid, and says “Oopsiee” "? Is there a point to it or a way to use it effectively?
And also, would you recommend getting a SF4 pad for this? Will help with the overall gameplay and everything??
Thank you for your time, and sorry for the huge noob/newb questions. =D
I really want to get into this game!
no this shouldn’t have been posted at all cause you should read the sakura forum. for air hurricane. jump first then do a hurricane. the second one is otoshi. push punch so she won’t land w/ a long recovery. EX is used for closing the gap when people are throwing them at full screen cause it homes in on people. also used for combo enders, but i prefer j. hk or something else as a ender after EX tatsu.
SSblanka this is saikyo dojo nothing is to scrubby, thats the purpose of this subforum
basically every thing SSblanka said is accurate, I suggest getting some sort of XBox stick(dont need to DL stuff like ps3 sticks).
Also if you press the select button it will switch to the moves command rather than the name(idk if that was also a issue)
The air hurricane kick isn’t special, but for a beginner it’s a weird thing to throw out. You’ll just jump, then quarter circle back and kick. The hard part about the trials is that you not only have to do the move, you also have to make it hit Dan over there, so start the move late. Use the LK version.
The jump in the air move is called “Otoshi”. The game doesn’t tell you this, but you’ll input the move (“forward, down, downforward” or just “downforward, downforward”), then kick. She’ll jump at her opponent. If you do nothing, she’ll slide and say oopsie. If you jump close enough, push punch in the air in the middle of the move. She’ll smack them on top of the head. She’ll do that shit 3 times if you hit punch punch punch. If you punch too early, you’ll cancel out of the move and just land regularly.
It’s not used a lot outside of combos. The ex version closes the gap on a runway though.
As far as the hurricane kick in the air (or any other air move like that) you have to be careful, it’s not timing for say, but you have to make sure that you return to neutral before inputing the qcb
Go to training mode, turn on Input Display.
Jump, then do the hurricane kick.
Make sure you’re ending the motion on back and not downback (most common source of air tatsu problems)
her Air hurricane kick is a bit tricky to actually land at first, I think you want to start it after the apex of her jump, about half way down, in order to hit dan. She doesn’t spin around very many times, and it doesn’t matter which button you use in the air, it’s always the same strength/number of spins unless you do the EX version (which probably wont count for the trials anyway)
A little offtopic, but I just got 2 of my friends playing this game and they got it for PC like a week ago. Their GFWL usernames are Tokarth and ajslim88 if you guys want some semi-even fights.
