Skin design assistance
I use Photoshop CS4 what is the best way to edit the skins in that or should i use a different program i don’t want what i do to look cheesy. Any assistance would be appreciated.
use layers and blends, de-saturating the base skin helps to get a pure color. try to avoid flat coloring although it can work sometimes.
I decided to tweak him a little bit more… He’s going to be one tough looking SOB. Screenies and possibly video coming shortly.

Well yeah… look at the wiki, there’s a tutorial section there.
I’m using GIMP with a DDS plugin, but yeah. The tedious-but-not-really-hard part is just unpacking the textures down to the .dds files. Once that’s done, it’s just like any other photo editing / illustrating project (until you have to re-inject the modified textures, of course). I think piecemontee’s asset viewer will actually do all the funky extraction shit for you, but I haven’t really tried it yet.
the asset viewer does and its awesome makes it so much easier and you get the 3d models too
A couple of days ago I compiled the summary of character popularity data based on skins produced, and it’s quite interesting. There are runaway leaders, of course, but some of the others are neck and neck.
Oh yeah, how about Seth as C3PO? The same circle on stomach. Or making the guys in his lab bg yellow like Marty McFly’s radiation suit?

Those Balrog skins look great, really like the money one. It fits his character 
I updated my Weapon X Blanka skin by adding mutton chops and I also added Sabertooth Blanka.

I think it looks great already, but if you want some subjective suggestions, I would probably move his belt up to line up with clasp that’s slightly higher up on his gut, and maybe rework the dark stuff around his eyes (I was unsure what that was supposed to be).
However, I think it looks really awesome just like it is. I like your work with the designs on his jacket and the leather looks really good. Is that texture copy/pasted from a photo somewhere?
