Yea man I played it this past weekend on saturday.
Sorry but my hype meter just got higher after playing the game for the 1st time.
Perfect sin brought it down to a tournament in the ATL called IC3. I couldn’t finish the sf4 tournament because it was getting soo late so I prolly finished in a wack placing, but I had fun playing. Justin whooped me up with rufus in the tournament. He showed me some dope shit with blanka that had me going :wow: I can’t fucking wait to get my hands on this game. Everyone that has sf4 arcade near you are blessed imo. I can only imagine how hype it is to play in an arcade full of good players!!!:karate::tup: I
beat a couple of sagats and ryu’s with geif and rog! I also played with abel a couple of times when I picked him by mistake. I wasn’t interested in playing him at 1st, but after being forced to play with him I think i’m going to learn him on the console. In casuals I was 9-1 and overall I was 12-2 over the entire day. There was a 5 game win streak limit during casuals.
I like the Ryu player, but the Sim player was honestly pretty bad. Sliding toward someone charging up for focus is pretty much the stupidest thing you can do, and he does it twice. Forward slide to punish a whiffed dp? Jump toward fierce that doesn’t even hit? Getting hit by focus charges 30 times? Fun to watch a Ryu combo video, but man, I hope that Sim learned a few things from this match heh.

Exactly, it’s not that he’s a really good Ryu, just that he was playing a bunch of scrubs. You will rarely land his ultra on a top player without juggling.
Yea I agree, I think it would be much more interesting to see what he can do Vs. some other well known players. He’s definitely got a nice handle on the game mechanics.

Gootecks mentioned in one of the early podcasts something about a Korean guy beasting with Ryu.
That Ryu vs Akuma/Dhalsim video is also from September, so the game was probably still being learned by most of those players. You probably won’t see those players doing the same thing now.
