SF4 built on Unreal engine

Yep those are teeth from his Flash Kick victims

I think SF4’s Chun Li was inspired by this…

the concept is kewl and all but I don’t think my heart can take playing
another street fighter game in 3d. Ugh!!! :arazz:

Nah, i like the cartoony look. Fits SF more. The cartoony look adds a lot more color and life to it imo making it not look dull.

the changes made for to the COD4 engine for W@W would suck for SF…little kids would find a way to get underneath the stage and sonic boom you to death from below.

That and the game colors would be every shade of dirt…however, I think it would be pretty cool to see SFV with a more realistic grittier look to it.

That looks pretty bad-ass. I’d love to see that kind of texture detail in a fighter.

I’m glad street fighter will never look like that.

UE3 is trash… the earlier ones were ok.

Guile just looks like he got done Ramboing Burma or something.

wow, unreal is trash? really? ridiculous hyperbole in this thread. it had a very rocky start, but it’s now a shapely and polished engine.

the sdk is incredible.

Ha!..and ‘you guys’ were complaining about the bulkiness of the characters before?

looks class but whats this got to do with the unreal engine? engine usually entails physics and lighting and i suppose texture, bump mapping but 3d models come into it separately !

Maria!!!

That’s what I thought too. Unless I see it moving in a game, I don’t know what the Unreal Engine has to do with it. The description should be more like what if SF characters were modeled like Unreal characters.

Guile looks nice, love the gore on his flashkicking foot.

I’m so glad SF4 was NOT built like that.

Those models are really nice, alright. But they don’t look “SF”.

Quake 3 engine??? are you joking. Infinity Ward makes their own engines.

BTW the prettiest engine for a fighting game would be the Crytek engine from Crysis. It would put everyone in the arcade and use a ridiculously expensive pc with quad gpu’s.

Intially a lot of peopel did note the art style of SF4 was very"GOW"inspired and did seem to take a lot of aethetic principles of UN3 designs. Personally I think this would have been pretty amazing looking and what the series should have eventually progressed to. They could have probably played around with it a bit more, like with making ink outlines and some cel-shading tones so it could look like a painting, but IMO this is the visual update it needed. SF4 still looks like it could have been created by a last gen console, I understand the budget going for the tittle but there was so much more that could have bee done with it visually…but no use talking about it now.

Yeah, it seemed to be headed towards something like that with the first ryu&ken ink trailer, wouldn’t have minded to be honest, that was the best trailer I had ever seen in a long, long time.

I really like what he did with Guile, looks awesome. He needs to raise his shirt. I like how he has blood on one of his boots haha.
