Yes. You can’t cancel from a cancel unless it is into another light attack. So in order to combo into a LK.Tatsu the last hit must be linked.

Does this work on everyone? Or is it character specific? It definitely seems easier on certain characters.
It should work on everyone, I just leave a slight pause and sweep, seems to work for me.
Bigger hit boxes are almost always easier to connect with, but to the best of my knowledge it should work on everyone. Though you should only be doing a sweep if you are good at applying offensive pressure as they wake up since that is the only real reason to use it.

In regards to the Focus into Ultra, I’ll have to go back and look at what I was talking about. I know I was doing numerous tests with comboing into Focus Attack and Ultra was simply running into them and not picking up.
As for being self-absorbed… lol are you joking? There were other small threads for combos so I started my own. I didn’t force anyone to follow it, but I put in enough effort, testing, and overall time that I felt it would benefit people to have an easily recognizable topic name.
Now that it’s stickied, it probably doesn’t need my name in it. However, I’ll keep it there just to irk you.
Doesn’t work for me on Ryu, Ken or bison… can anyone verify this? There might be more people that it doesn’t work on…
EDIT: Doesn’t seem to work on Rufus or Abel or Gen either.
Can you post the text where I said that Ultra wasn’t connecting? I want to look at the context to see if it was maybe part of a longer combo I was attempting with a L2 in the middle (or something similar).

In the moment I am playing around with the far LP -> far HK link, as I think it would be beautiful to combo into the far HK not using FADC or EX meter in general. From the normals only the far LP (+7) give you enough frame advantage to combo into far HK according to the frame data (wiki) and test in training. I tried various set ups like:
crossMK, crLP, crLP, standing LP, far HK, … -> bnb
Unfortunately the standing LP is mostly still a close one and therefore not comboable to far HK.
Does anyone has a more or less reliable set up for this link? Or if already covered somewhere else, could you please point me in the right direction? Thx in advance.
Btw, the standing close LP makes the following “block string combo” a walk in the park.
crLP (or crLK), crLP, standing close LP, crMK, HADO (damage 169)
I always had consistency problems with crLP -> crMK link, the above combo is much more reliable for me due to the +6 frames of the standing close LP.
f.lp > f.hk definitely works, and you can even loop it on taller/bigger characters like Abel, Sagat, Zangief
Try c.lk, s.lk, s.lp, s.hk.
The s.lp should be a far one.
