where can i play sf3rd strike.
i dont have a ps2 all i got is a pc .
is there any way i can play it? here and online vs other ppl?
yes… illigal roms
yes, kaillera works with it…
i’m not sure that the rom set is even finished.
um no…
if you can find the Dreamcast ISOs you can play it on ChankKast (a DC emulator)
Da Arcade, yo. Props to your mother.
The rom has most certainly been dumped, but there’s no CPSIII emulator yet. Nor most likely ever will be as the only game people would want it for is one (SFIII). Three if you count ALL of the SFIII games.
arent cvs2 and mvc2 on the cpsIII? as far as i know, mame wont emulate them as the games are still too popular… i forgot who i heard that from.
Both were made for the Naomi II board.
CPSIII had Red Earth and a JoJo. That’s all I know.
JoJo’s Venture / JoJo no Kimyouna Bouken
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Heritage for the Future / JoJo no Kimyouna Bouken Miraie no Isan
Street Fighter III New Generation
Street Fighter III 2nd Impact Giant Attack
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Fight for the Future
Red Earth / Warzard
Those are all the games that were released on CPS3
polarity is right
and cvs1, cvs2, and mvc2 were all released on naomi 1 board. naomi 2 didnt come around til VF4
and cps3 will not be emulated for years, you can count on that. the emulation part is easy, its the encryption thats stopping it. it took razoola over at cps2 shock roughly 5 years to crack the cps2 encryption, and IIRC, hes still the only one that can do it. now look at cps3, with even stronger encryption setup, and very flaky boards that die easily, which makes it hard to run tests on it and such.
and as of this moment, no one has announced working on cracking its encryption. so if you are waiting for cps3 encryption, prepare to wait years.
if we get a sf3rdstrike ps2 cd can we play it on a pc with some other type of emu?
Actually a couple years ago Razoola mentioned something about working on CPS3 boards as well. But after that, I haven’t read anything else about it.
Oh, my bad.
Anyone know what this “security feature” I think I’ve been reading about? Something about destroying your board if you try tampering it?
As far as I’ve researched, the cps3 has a needed “memory chip” so-to-speak, that is very sensitive, and can’t be attached to the entire code/board/whatever.
All I know is, it’s hard for people to understand and translate CPS3 due to the complexity of it, and due to it having sorts of things that make the CPS3 games stand out a bit.
I bought an xbox just to play 3s, but I ended up modchipping it and now I have over 700 SNES, Megadrive, N64 and Arcade games. Funny thing is, I returned 3rd strike to the shop so I could just rent and download it to my xbox. Now all I need is a bigger hard drive.
The problem/s with 3rd strike is:
- Arcade units are usually so expensive
- Dreamcast’s version is garbage, I own it
- CPS3 boards make it complicated to be emulated
- Modding an xbox could/would void you from live
- Paying for live then being voided/banned is wasting money
- Some people don’t want arcade sticks, and prefer pads
etc… loads of reasons. I don’t know exactly why everybody is going nuts over 3rd strike, but I know I did.
I don’t believe the boards that crap out if you so much as sneeze at it is the security feature.
IIRC, CPS3 has both a harddrive and a CD rom. The game first is on the CD ROM, and then is installed on the HD. Problem is, is that any attempt to dump either one of these will make the board crap out (cause its so fragile).
If I can, I’ll see if I can find that page that Raz wrote about it.
