The 3rd tournament (Korea)
Tomorrow(2/25) the 3rd tournament will be held,
and it’s the first time that I take part in sf2ce game!
I’m so tensed…
and busy now,
because I have to prepare some
for this tournament.
On Saturday, the game will begin at 4 pm.
And specially, we’re going to connect
one of sf2ce board(42 inch) to PDP in front of the arcade(Jungin arcade).
(There’re four sf2ce cabinets.)
Sure, that game will be captured by a pc.
And another will be filmed by my camcorder.
We are going to make progress like ‘World Cup’ rule.
I’ll bet that the tourn will go pretty well.
That’s great, Korea_sf2ce, I hope you do well. By the way, if you can, please post brackets and the winner fo the tournament.
Ok.
But…what is ‘bracket’ means?
Oh.Thank you.
Browsed through, looked at a couple of match vids. Really good stuff. Bring back happy memories.
I third it. IMO CE > SuperT by far.
Yes…I’m so busy these days for put in to shape 'the 3rd tournament’
and setting up the new homepage for “‘sf2ce’ gamers from all over the world.”
I knew that Chinese gamers had been sf2ce tournaments before,
but there’s another sf2ce tournaments except Korean and Chinese.
The Brazilian sf2ce gamers!!
I really amazed it.
Anyway, the sf2ce homepage will not splendid
but the ‘boards’ will be the main style.
First, the homepage will be made in English,Chinese and Korean.
Sure I’ll set another languages as possible as
I get someone who knows the language.
These days, sometimes we’re broadcasting “sf2ce playing in arcade” live, over the internet.
We use this broadcasting free but we can broadcast and see the live in a special player.
I really want to know that it is possible or not to broadcast personally.

I would hope that by the time they got the last version of CE done (I see August 03, 1992 as the most recent version, and it’s US) that Dhalsim was finally rendered unjugglable… that would put players who used him at a major disadvantage.
The only thing I can see is it being banned from use, but how do you enforce that? It CAN come up unintentionally, and what happens then?
Unjugglable?
What do you mean?

I REALLY didn’t wanna explain this, but…
A ‘juggle’ is where you can hit an opponent multiple times while in the air. This property is viewable in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on most Super Combos (called the Volleyball Effect early on), as well as some moves like Sagat’s Tiger Uppercut with the Fierce button.
However, Dhalsim has a bug with his recovery animation when being hit out of the air with a normal attack (he’s supposed to land on his feet) that leaves him vulnerable to attack.
Chun Li can REALLY exploit this with her ‘toe tap’ air attack (Down + Forward kick). With timing, this will look alot like something seen in Street Fighter Alpha, and end up wiping the floor with Dhalsim in a 100% damage combo.
Because it can easily come up in normal play, I feel enforcement can’t be exact.
Consider this scenario with Dhalsim vs. Ken:
Dhalsim whiffs a jump punch early in his flight. Ken sees the opening, and walks in. the Ken player goes for a safe ‘low Forward canceled into Hadoken’ retaliation combo. However, the Ken player screws his timing, and hits one frame too early. Add that to the fact he was walking in when he tries for the fireball, and a Shoryuken comes out. While Dhalsim tries to recover from the low Forward, the Shoryuken remains active, and tags Dhalsim in the air at his vulnerable point for a second hit that shouldn’t be possible in the pre-ST engine.
Now, this is an accidental triggering of the bug. It’s obvious the Chun Li example is abuse and can be acted on. But how does the accidental free attack get handled? It’s not quite cool to hand out a DQ for an unintentional thing, especially if it’s not known.
Oh, on a related note, Bonus stage 3 with Vega (claw): break the lowest and outermost drum, and then get under it and backflip. Useless, but fun to watch.
This glitch only exists in Champion Edition and there is absolutely no reason to ban it. If someone picks Dhalsim in CE, they know what they’re getting into.
The timing for this glitch to work is very hard to do. Near impossible in actual gameplay and under pressure. Especially againts someone who knows what he’s doing. So no need for a ban.
Sim is one of the best in CE when used right.
To whom ever said CE>ST, you are right on the money, and these matches are very nice. Lots of good zoning, and after watching the CE. Guile/CE. Sagat matches, it brings back some bad memories for me, because I really didn’t like fighting CE. Guile or CE. Sagat when I played CE. Ryu at all. Also shakes head from those CE. Bison players, I still have nightmares from those dizzy, re-dizzy combo’s, and I’m reliving them again in AE:wasted:, great post of the matchup’s though, and yes, I would like to see the bracket and who wins for this, I’m rooting for the Ryu player for the win (whomever they are).
