I know about that…I rename files like that all the time on PC games. I’m referring to hacking it out so that your opponent can see that you’re using that costume as well online.
But that still doesn’t answer my original question…does anyone know when the colors and costumes are going to be “officially” released? And is the PC version getting the DLC characters on July 31st as well?
Ok, that kind of hack can get you banned (tho I don’t know if capcom even cares of hacks on gfwl).
I don’t think anybody can predict when the colors are gonna be released (we got 0 of the 56 downloadable colors in 2 months…)
It’s so nice to have that “new” icon on stuff you can’t even download, isn’t it?
About the dlc characters, I wouldn’t get my hopes too high, we don’t even have the first roster up to date (1.05).
It would be a mess to include new characters without patching the old ones.
On pc they have plenty of files to add: they didn’t only remove files from the game, some files were edited according the removals, so they need to provide new files (for example, the files in the boot folder: const.lua, arcade_const.lua and other files that hold informations on the characters: health points, official tag team, rivals, etc…)
There’s more work on pc than on console (where they have all the files ready to be unlocked).
Yeah, and that’s the kind of hacking that I refuse to do, no matter how enticing the costumes and colors may be…
We probably shouldn’t open up that can of worms anyway. :nono:
And yeah, I’m not getting my hopes up about the DLC characters, since they did remove them from the PC version. Still, it’d be a nice present for us PC players to get something at the same time as the consoles for once. :bluu:
And I’m guessing that there isn’t a set date for 1.05 for the PC either?
So far my GFWL connection is back on track. Dang, I still need to teach myself on how to stay calm in playing this game. Being nervous stiffens my fingers and has already cost me 2 matches.
I myself am not quite ready to say that like in AE, whatever lag issues may be left are here to stay and should just be accepted. I think there is still a lot of room for improvement.
the facts are:
1)those lags happen for only 1 player so its not connection related thing
2)they happen at complete random rate, you might have 1st round flawless until the opponent tags in another character, 2nd round lagfest from start to end, 3rd round flawless until 23 sec and then it starts to teleport like crazy
3)this really kills the online since game is unplayable for either you or your opponent. its very rare that its not lagging for both
and dont even try to deny that, for gods sake.
this is unacceptable and should be fixed asap.
Tried that and it didn’t work either.
The only thing that fixes it for me on every PC I install Steam too is by deleting the Steam.exe, renaming the Steam-Update.exe to Steam.exe and than finally running Steam.
I have tried at least a dozen other solutions (including all the ones you mentioned) to the issue and NONE of them worked.
It works 100% fine after the above fix, but its a problem that should be investigated as its been there a long time and searching Google reveals that quite a few people have the same problems with Steam.
Steam does seem like a great service (if you don’t have any install problems) and I actually purchased my fiances SSF4AE key from there and used it on her GFWL log-in from my retail version install.
The only other game I own on the service is Batman :AA GOTY and because it is also a GFWL game I just did the same with it using the retail disc I loaned from a friend.
However I am just a huge SF (and RE) fan, both my partner and I bought the complete DLC for our copies of AE and because we have also both purchased our DLC through GFWL playing the games through Steam would cause issues with DLC not wanting to work.
I don’t play a large variety of games on my PC mostly due to not liking any PC’s biggest genre’s (I don’t like FPS, RPG, RTS or MMO games) and the fact I have 3 kids means I don’t get to play much.
Anyway, getting back on-topic…
I haven’t purchased SFxT for PC and at least for the time being don’t plan to as I am quite angry about Capcom’s PC support (The AE 2012 1.07 patch being 5 months behind the PS3/360 patch release now is completely unacceptable) and feel they don’t deserve any further money from me until they prove that they will start taking PC more seriously.
Has there been any news on the netcode fix that was supposed to be included in this patch? Since it was released and the teleporting/lags are still the same as before, did Capcom have anything to say about this? Will there ever be a fix?
