Finally got the Steam update. Didn’t realise I had to actually launch the game first rather than wait for it to download automatically, like any normal game does. Several games online. All the same. Teleporting all over the place. It didn’t seem to matter where the person was from. I played against a Russian, a German, an American and a friend who lives in Edinburgh (which is like an hour away from me). If anything, the American lagged less than anyone else.
I also went to the store to see what I could download, and it redirects me to a page that doesn’t exist. I don’t know whether to blame Capcom or Valve for that. It is easier if I just blamed them both.
For the first time I actually regret buying something. I still enjoy messing around in single player modes, but I bought this to play online and I just can’t do that. I’m just going to wait until the DLC characters are released, and if the PC version isn’t sorted out by then, then I think I will just go ahead and buy it for the 360. I’d much rather pay money for the game and to play it online than just pay for single player like I seemed to have done with the PC version.
That video is from May 17th. makes it irrelevant to the patch.
I guess different people have different experience, I am just glad I can play most games no prob.
…and I wouldnt keep complaining about lag when you are also complaining about the lack of players, complaining isn’t helping to gain any new players man.
oh damn, it was on eventhubs so i didnt see the date of vid. anyway i am still having issues even with same area players.
and i’d rather warn people not to buy this laggy piece of nonsense rather than watch them waste their money. i recommend people to buy AE instead.
Greatings.
I’ve updated my SFXT pc to the 1.02. It sayed there were no items on the store. If i go to the costumize menu, I can see some new gems/colors with a small shopping cart in front of it. When I try to “use” it, the game says it needs to download it, wich i press ok. Then i get an error saying it couldn’t be downloaded.
If i go to the store menu, everything shows empty, there no items there. Clicking any option will just says “theres no new downloads in this cathegory”
Im using the non steam version of the game. AKA the normal one.
Prior to the patch I could find some endless battle lobies. Now after the patch there arent any, in Europe at least. Only ranked matches. Perhaps due to the lag, players prefer lobbies exclusive to their region.
considering the treatment the PC version got, it is surprising there arent even more. also give them credit. they use a keyboard
it sucks that it doesnt show full lobbies, so it looks like endless is empty when its actually not.
i usually host 4-6 man lobbies through the day (europe), but i guess my russian flag scares everyone away ;<
on GGPO and Supercade at least regarding KOF and Third Strike, a noticable number of players I played against, use keyboards. Even on Last Blade 2 on GGPO I played against a good player who used keyboard. The good players there type also surprisingly fast.
the irony is that a lot of them had the older consoles and they prefered to play those old games on PC. I even played against a guy a little older than me who had a Neo Geo in his youth.
So really unless there is more variety in popular fighters, it is only natural that the number of good players in the newer FG will be less.
So, i had several matches against different people. Teleporting was still there but not so often.
Played against…
…2x Italy -> was fine
…2x 3 Russia -> was suprisingly good
…1x Norway -> oh god… that was awful
Even 2 endless lobbies were up. Had some fun yesterday
It’s not that bad. I actually prefer the keyboard over the gamepad, although there are some moves that are nigh-impossible to pull off like two 360s and the SFIV Bloody High Claw.
Ive since opened up my ranked searches to any area and have been playing some international players, and I do see a bit more laggy matches but happy to say I can even play many of them with no problems, it can be better for sure but it isn’t unplayable by any means.
There are some skilled international players out there too.
GGS.
