I respect the hell out of all the Gen, Rose, Hakan etc players who stuck with their main no matter what stupid buffs other characters got, or whatever borderline broken-characters Capcom tossed in via DLC.
And, of course, got mad respect for everybody on this forum. (Except for Ten_Zen. Fuck him.) Had to be tough to stick with Vega through this SFIV series.

I really didn’t like playing different characters, Vega looked to badass, if the character looks the coolest to me that’s gonna be my main.
I played one Yun in AE2012.
and bodied the fucker.

I tried playing other characters on the side and failed. Bison is only really my true alt. I can pick him up and remember him just as easily as Vega. But Vega has always and always will be my main.
I tried Guile for a week or so…keeping people off with sonic booms is so boring and i ended up in the corner all the time and i missed so much vega’s wall jump (bounce from the wall not FBA)…also Guiles jump is so slow…these days i’m playing Vega exclusively …i like Guile as a character but he is so boring to play…any potencial alt has been a failure so far…
I was thinking about a Vega + Tekken girl team. Which would you choose?
Nina - She is bitter towards men (EXCEPT her farther, Vega hated his), a MILF, cold and indifferent. More likely a rival towards Vega than not. I don’t know, she IS a cold-blooded assassin and perhaps their differences in personality would let her and Vega focus more on the task at hand.
Julia - Very possibly T-Hawk’s illegitmate abandoned child, Julia is a bit of a captain-planeteer. She’s in love with some guy or vice versa and already had a rescue story. Teaming up with Vega would be similar to Vega/Chun or Vega/Cammy. Vega might be jealous regarding that other guy.
Lili - Her fighting style strives for grace and poise in every movement. I’m sure Vega would delight at this and would surely feel it a tragedy if she met her demise. Too bad she admires her father and is generally a good person. Is she corruptable or can Vega be softened? Either way she’s a bit young I think…
Asuka - Justice-minded, seeks to avenge here father, pretty much a carbon-copy of Chun-Li’s motivations. She may or may not have a “thing” for her cousin. Not sure how Vega would react to that.
Xiaoyu - Vega would have to go through a Panda-bear bodyguard to get to this childish girl. Again, seems like she’s another well-intentioned fighter. Basically a Sakura story.
Lili would be the most suitable among them. She has Vega aspects to her. That arrogance, that beauty and her obsession with her grace.
Nicely told. There was one point last year when I have seen his AE nerfs I thought “Vega, I love you, but Capcom hates you. I need to try some other char.” Than I realised he is the reason why I play SF. And of course returned to him the next day. Capcom still hasn’t been able to create such a unique char like him. Matador/Ninja, obsessed with beauty, licks the opponents blood, uses a claw to fight, protects his face, has great grammar… The best!
That’s why I don’t understand those Ryu, Ken, Guile players. A vagabond that seeks true stregth? I would dumb that idea the instant I hear it. Married man accompanies his friend? What a bore. And what’s Guile? I think he is the most boring char, in both background and in gameplay. To play Guile you just have to know this: Do Sonic Boom. Flash kick if the opponent jumps. OK, done.
I like Asuka as a partnert for Vega just cause it looks like a fun “opossites attract” thing…too bad Capcom has turned Vega into a one dimensional villian in the SF4 series…he showed he had something more inside in his history mode of SFA3 first cause he couldn’t kill Cammy an later by turning against Bison for considering him a coward…of course none of this is canon…I would like to see Vega as a sort of anti-hero in any media some day…
I don’t know what is it about guile out of the “good” guys in the game he seems to be the more interesting intense silent driven by vengance…also after the AE nerf he was considered almost low tier so i thought he would be challenging and fun to use but he is just boring…

Francys, since your Vega guide is so good you should put together some beginners guide to KOF13 =], I just picked it up and im lost. Not talking on execution, just don’t get the flow of the game. I’ve watched dandy J’s videos a few times i just cant get the feel for KOF.
Secondly; I walked into the store last week and see the cover art for SFxT and briefly got excited. At the bottom it reads “preorder and get the exclusive world warrior gem pack” and I realized what a freaking joke that this game will be. So Capcom is twisting my arm to preorder or i may miss out on specific advantages? Get real, tournament nightmare here, we’ll all be playing different versions of the game. Im not a tournament caliber player yet by any means but I have my aspirations, I won’t invest any significant amount of time in a fighter unless its able to be played competitively.
In class so very fast … Just get the special edition. You get all the gems for an extra $10

I don’t think it’s difficult to pre-order a game…
Im either gettin trolled or you guys missed my point =p. What sets a fighting game apart from other competitive games is that it is a level playing field, your character vs theirs. If I wanted to invest money to get an advantage over my peers I’d go play any of the 500 free to play mmo’s with cash shops you can buy gear and items. The gameplay looks fun enough, I just cant take it serious because of the gems.
my assumption is that all the gems are unlockable, preordering and paying an extra $10 for the special edition package just does it for you (+ game art and whatever), and tournament mode lets you play vs mode with all gems unlocked
