SF III: 3s - PS2 vs. X-Box Differences? (if any)

Nah man don’t bother with 3s on DC as much as I hate to say it, it is THE worst ver. of 3s on console.

And I’m about to inverst in a X-Box Magic Box ASAP!!! - Now I can go out and buy ALL the 2D games on X-Box.

I think both versions are cool, but I go with the PS2 version.

Get Double Impact for DC. That version is dead on. In fact, if you put it side by side w/ 3s on DC you’ll see just how fucked up DC 3s really is. Why they were able to port Second Impact and New Generation flawlessly but fuck up 3s is beyond me.

Who would of thought an American game system would end up being the best place for 2d fighters? Guilty Gear XX#R, Capcom Vs. SNK 2, 3rd Strike, Super Turbo, SNK vs. Capcom, and soon KOF 2002 and 2003 all online. Not to mention offline Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and every CPS2 fighter (alpha 3, vampire savior) through emulation. Good shit right there.

#R on xbox is HORRIBLE. if you import the korean or japanese version on ps2 you feel the input lag on the xbox version. yes, i’m talkin about offline. sammy usa fucked up on the xbox version. it was just meant to make a quick buck with the xbox live feature.

So the sound is arcade-perfect in PS2 and X-Box versions, eh?

If so, I can get rid of my DC one- didn’t like the sound changes.

Majesico brought over #R for US Xbox, not Sammy.

I could swear that the PS2 version limits air resets to only one. Is there away to disable this feature?

ssj2jeff

you are way wrong, the xbox version of guilty gear xxr is identical to the ps2 version minus the soundtrack, which is possible to change with a modded xbox.

Woah, woah, woah!!!

GGXX#R is the FIRST game I bought on Box, how is the soundtrack and shit diffrent?!!?

And I got 3s on Box yesterday, don’t feel too shabby but the triggers suck ASS, I config my Mid’s on the back triggers and they don’t come out 1/2 the time, also Link into Super is damned near impossible - should I invest in the 6 Button pads that are out or just get the Magic Boxes w/ the DC/PS2 Pad Assist? - or BOTH lol

i’ve actually sat down and played the xbox version then switched to the korean version and i felt the difference. if you ask anyone on gamecombos they’ll tell you the same thing.

Again can you PLEASE break down what is diffrent?

Are you talking about convertor lag or lag using an x-box pad/stick? I haven’t noticed any, but I don’t have the import version of #r

nope there is just normal input lag. i was using a SFac stick. the people at the tournament felt the difference too. if you have both versions korean and xbox, try doing a combo with strict timing like sols dust loop and you’ll see.

omg. the sfac stick has mad lag no matter what when used on xbox. cuz nuby uses a converting signal from the ps2 controls to xbox like a regular converter. you are judging a game based on using a flawed product. its widely known that the sfac stick is horrible for xbox mainly. #r on xbox is absolutely just fine. i play on a stick wired from an xbox pad. no shitty converter bs or anything. the game controls absolutely fine. everything i can do in arcade and ps2 #r, i can do on xb just as well. im picky as hell on ports and this one is just fine. but #r, and 3s too, are just more preferred on ps2 overall cuz a lot more people have sticks/pads of their liking made for ps2 as opposed to xbox.

i am fortunate enough to have custom sticks for ps2 and xbox, with no converter crap, so i personally choose xbox version cuz of higher quality in picture and sound(and live play). but gameplay wise, they both play the same.

parryall: xbox has the worst version of cvs2. rc is gone, you can super cancel in P(exclusive to xbox version) S groove charges much faster(another xbox exclusive). thats enough to warrant MAJOR gameplay changes. like it matters tho, i think cvs2 is some of the worst shit capcom has made.

also parryall: 2i on DC was a bad version too. lots of shit was removed and yun and yangs sa3 supers got fucked up in the translation. a lot of juggles were missing. very very toned down version, and inconsistencies
