SF:HF 360 screens

Why is that? There really is nothing wrong with HF. OH NOES IT DOSENT HAVE THE SUPER WHAT WILL WE DO.

To me it was clear why they were porting Turbo and not Super or Super Turbo. The series was at its’ high point when SF2T came out and now in this day in age most of the gamers that played SF2T back then moved on to other game genres and this is their calling card back. The amount of talk I have seen about this game in casual gamer forums is insane. I will be shocked if it does not sky rocket to the best selling XBLA game.

The only thing that will fuck the whole thing up is if Capcom are hella greedy and jack the price up to an insane amount. I think 800 points would be perfect for this game.

Wait, so you pay for XBLA with gamer points? I though it was $.

it’s x-box live arcade. perhaps they shouldn’t let people play other “classics” llike robotron or smash tv then by your logic.

Also, they are simply releasing the version of SF2 that was the most popular. By the time super turbo came out it wasn’t as popular as the original or turbo. I remember when it first came out and I saw screenshots in magazines with the super meter and the blue sprite trail effects, which looked so awesome at the time. I used to look everywhere at every arcade for the machine but they’d only have the original games or just plain super sf. It wasn’t untill I found MAME several years later that I got a chance to play it.

 I knew about the popularity thing. I just found it odd that the Xbox won’t have the best version (IMO).

Cool, I guess that means I’ll never have to worry about buying a 360. If a manufacturer says I can’t do what I want with the things that I legally purchase, I won’t purchase its stuff. Why would anyone let themselves be hemmed in like that? It makes no sense.

I think it’s great that Hyper Fighting is coming out again, but here’s my question: why is an entire game disc dedicated to one version of SF2, even if it’s one of the best fighting games ever? You can practically fit the HF rom on a floppy disc, and here they’re dedicating a whole XBox 360 disc to it? Why not make a REAL Street Fighter Classics edition and put in WW, CE, HF, Super, ST, AND Alpha 3, AND Third Strike, if not also A1, A2, NG, and SI? I have a hard time believing that those ancient, ancient games would be difficult to fit all together on one disc. THAT would be a purchase worth making. Screw this slowly dribbling old-ass games to us. It’s this kind of thing that makes using Mame seem like an excellent option.

It’s not on a disc.

Ah, it’s on XBL Arcade. So, that should make it even easier to put on all the other versions of Street Fighter?

It’s not going to happen. Maybe in a few years but for now the only games that Xbox Live Arcade is going to have are “classics” and short easy pickup/browser games (like the types of games you play on flash game sites).

If I’m not mistaken, arn’t the games on XBL arcade just flash games running a slightly more powerful, beefed up version of shockwave flash?

edit: Looks like I’m right, http://www.xbox-scene.com/xbox1data/sep/EEFyElpyFEMlyuXcLW.php

Maybe that explains the games they’ve been chosing for live arcade; whatever can be easily ported into flash.

You buy it with marketplace points which cost $$$, not gamerscore points. I with they’d let you do something with gamerscore points tho.

I actually think they are just portingthe game to 360, not flash. I don’t think all the games are flash, as there is at least one shooter running on the unreal engine that is going on XBLA.

to be honest, does anyone really care. HF is crap compaired to ST and I’ve been playing ST on kaillera for years

plus we all know the xbox live environment is mostly a large halo2 fanboi scrub fest. Most the people who use kaillera at least know what the fuck their doing

IIRC more xbl players placed in ST at evo than kaillera players, am I wrong?

Contrary to “your” opinion, not everyone feels that ST is the pinnacle of SF2.

I care since IMO HF & SSF2 > ST. ST is a good game, but to call HF “crap” lol

From a business standpoint it makes sense, since HF is WAY more familiar to the mainstream public; obviously not as much as WW or CE, but still. I mean, how many people outside of the “hardcore fighting game community” have actually have heard of the 4th installment of SF2?

Most people outside of the “hardcore fighting game community” probably couldn’t tell you any of the various SF2 versions by name. ST, HF or otherwise. It’s just “Street Fighter” to most people

True, to an extent, but at least if you said “World Warrior” or “Champion Edition” they would be a greater percentage of people (mainstream) who would have some idea of what you are talking about then say…Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

Unless you tell them that Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is “the one with Akuma”

A good game, no matter how old it is, IS STILL A GOOD GAME, DUMBASS.

Repped for truth.

If I cant use joystick it’s not gonna be much fun for me.
