I picked up SF anniversary collection Ps2 version knowing that my 60gb PS3 has backwards compatibility or so I thought. I havent played a ps2 game in my ps3 in a very long time. So I put in the game trying to scratch my 3rd strike itch and no dice. Ps3 recognizes its ps2 format game, soon as i try to start it up I get nothing but a blank screen and my controller turns off. I have the ps2 utility downloaded, so I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?
the game will play on the 60, perhaps you have a bad disc >_>
I’m sure there’s another thread for these type of posts but for your FYI, SF Anniversary does work on a PS3 backwards compatible system, without the need of any utility or firmware updates, etc. I just played Hyper SF2 several hours ago on my PS3. Have you tried playing any of your other PS2 games on your PS3 to see if it runs properly on your system? If if works, then It could be as the other guy mention a bad disc.
Not yet havent tried playing any other disc yet, will try that need to go to my neighbors to get another ps2 game.
