The DC version is arcade perfect while the PS2 version has some noticable differences like slowdowns, lag on assists, smaller sprites, missing frames, no invincibility for certain moves, removal of glitches, etc.
Why not ? it’s an excellent system and it’s pretty cheap now.
I had one before. I actually got it for free. I traded it in. There aren’t too many good games for it. Getting another video game system just isn’t necessary for me right now.
If you actually care about MvC2 it’s worth getting a DC. You can find them for hilariously cheap on Ebay. I’ve been through four or five DCs personally (thanks, Ascii greenstick + P360 combo) and I’ll always need one just because I love MvC2. DC MvC2 isn’t arcade perfect but the differences are really minor and don’t effect important characters. PS2 MvC2 has sound effects like they re-recorded the entire game from the bottom of a barrel, and it has all sorts of graphical glitches and lag and whatnot. Either version will cost you basically full price on Ebay because both games are out of print since Capcom is smart and can’t make Marvel games anymore.
MvC2 alone justifies holding onto a DC for me, but there were a few other good titles on it like Shenmue, Bang-ai-O, Seaman (weird…weird), and Jet Set Radio.
I hear ya…but take my word for it…I don’t play enough video games to warrant the purchase of a new system, regardless of how cheap it is. Also, I don’t know enough about MvC2 to notice, or give a shit, if I don’t have the best version of it.
Yeah exactly. If you’re just a beginner, who wants to learn the game engine and random combos, ps2 version is fine.
Except you will pay as much for the PS2 version of MvC2 as you will for a DC.
Picked up the alpha anthology guide. I’m looking over it now.
They no longer carry the SFAC guide, as expected. But I can get it for cheap on the net.
 you sure you aren’t confusing dc with jaguar…? there are a ton of great games for dreamcast.
Thanks, brother. I picked up the SFAC and the SFAA for 13 bucks a piece.
