Do it just as he begins to flip near the top of his jump arc. Keep trying to do it lower and lower in training mode. Ask this kind of stuff in Q&A please.
Just wanted to thank you guys for the tips i got in the thread a few weeks ago, less jumpy and more anti-air-y seth is a lot more dangerous to try to get in on, maybe i could get some recent videos up sometime and you could critique me some more.
What are you using for anti-air? I never seem to be close enough for close fierce or roundhouse and I’m afraid to do shoryu cause I eat a fierce roundhouse sandwich. I know I should take more advantage of my trades but I’m not sure what to do beside a riverdance combo, which is nice but not worth the trade if I’m already losing. It’s especially annoying when I’m not close enough to followup with that.
I guess I could be using EX shoryu instead, but the way it hits sometimes is ridiculous. Most times it hits only once, and puts my opponent trailing slighty behind me in the air. It seems like such a waste of EX meter.
You should never be trading with Seth’s shoryu, ever. It has something like 8 frames of invincibility. Use HP shoryu as AA, not lp. If you’re trading with HP you are doing it way too early.

I think that was my problem too, i was too greedy trying to get a lp shoryuken into riverdance, now i don’t risk it and just go for fierce>fadc or ex, don’t have to worry about trades nearly as often and it makes the thought of anti-airing that much better.
There are situations and spacings where you can do a lp shoryu and not trade. It depends on character and what jump-ins the opponent wants to use. Generally if they’re doing a crossup or a fake crossup you can do an early lp shoryu and not trade. Or if say Rufus does psychic j.hk to catch your j.hp or Guile whiffs air throw you can lp dp -> stomps safely. But in general just take the hp srk.
I sometimes trade a dp on purpose, trade dp > ex tranden > c.hp > corner combo or bnb
