In all honesty, I wouldn’t call it execution as much as timing. The risk:reward factor simply boils down to, “If I press this button in the slightest too early, I eat a 40%+ damage combo… By pressing a button.”
I’d rather just block than give up free damage over a minuscule thing like s.HP. The strength of blocking is considerably underrated.
Not saying it wasn’t a mistake. I’m just explaining why the comment was made. And I can see why someone would make that mistake given that Seth says “behold the glory that is the Tandem Engine” when executing U2.
That’s a good observation, thanks for clarifying Starscream. I’m sure everyone here can understand that if you don’t play a character, you typically don’t know the names of the moves. I also noted that the commentator that came on later kept calling the Typhoon “Tanden Stream”, when that’s obviously Ultra 1. It’s all good because ya know what, I can’t say I know the name of EVERY move in the game… yet. I know quite a few though.
Got another tournament today guys, I’ll be rocking Seth/Fuerte/Sagat maybe. It’s going to be tight, I’m wearing a Luchador mask anytime I bust out Fuerte.
Nice to meet you Warlike, I’m pretty much a scrub that cantst get no love, thank you for the good luck.
Anytime you’ve got questions, being new to Seth is an adventure. I’m going to liken Seth to Lord of the Rings when I say, “One does not simply walk into Mordor.”, so ask all the questions you want. Super has only been out officially for a month and some change, so re-visiting stuff we had already discovered in Vanilla might have changed, and would be good practice to double check it.
After playing with him all day I already feel bipolar, never was the line between a perfect and a loss so thin.
Thanks, I’ve been reading up on the most practical combos so far and just trying to get those in my head. Still figuring out how to make proper use of the tandem enginge though. It seems like a great move to keep the pressure on someone but I seem to use it when they are already out of the blockstun as they just jump out of it. I’m glad I finally made the switch for real though, playing with Gen was great but I can’t see him going anywhere for me personally.
Saikyo, you still reppin’ down in Cali with OnlineTony? I saw he wrecked fools at SNCR this year in the 3v3.
Speaking of SNCR, I heard that they re-seeded the Top 32 in the singles, this was just after I saw that Jason Cole and OnlineTony were supposed to play. I was HELLA hyped to see that ish, but my hype was dashed by Pangolins with Pistols.
i haven’t gone to a meetup since like november, without saying more than you want to hear, my home life’s just been a mess. i’m hoping it all gets better after i turn 18, but it might be a while before i can get out again.
besides that, i don’t play seth much in super; dudley, makoto, and sakura are just much more interesting at the moment. i can see myself coming back to him though, after i figure them out like i have figured him out.it’s cool to see people (especially TONY!!) doing so well with him though.
I know how life gets, so it’s completely understandable that you’ve got your priorities straight, you’ve got a leg up on me at your age already. I’m going to done playing games for a little while once I start school again this Fall.
I have been doing similar in Super. I’ve been playing Seth, Fuerte, Sagat, Blanka, Hakan, Zangief, Bison, and Balrog. It has been a little adventure and makes the game much more enjoyable to play random. Very exciting to see peeps reppin’ that shit in a solid cosmic display crushing of souls and wallets.
