Seth Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

wouldn’t lp sonic boom and lightning legs be the perfect trap then?

AND, it does matter, newcomers are all over the Street Fighter Online Community, i’ve done it many times, but never tested it, i don’t even know if they are blocking XD

Certain aerial attacks beat non EX legs is the main reason you may possibly run into issues, but otherwise it’s a solid anti air at certain ranges that other attacks can often get snuffed at like our pathetic stand fierce.

I don’t think this is true if they time their ultra late enough that you’ve already passed the window to FADC the boom.

You can’t block in the air, which you already know, so why are you bringing up blocking? The question was can it hit an AIRBORNE opponent.

It (SB/legs) would be the perfect trap if someone continued empty jumping after the first one hit and it worked on everyone (I don’t know if it does). I’m pretty certain though that regular legs will get snuffed by most attacks though. EX legs has some invulerability but I don’t know how long that lasts for. I know it is not 100% invincible though as I have been hit while using it.

So in short, yes it hits airborne opponents.

Since i’m a bit of a one track mind kinda guy, i’ve thrown lp booms at Chuns with ultra, and a lot of the times they actually get hit by just that 1…i try to only use booms when at full screen so that’s probably a factor.

Isn’t the time when FADC is no longer possible also when you can just jump away again? How big a window does the chun player have?

The window depends on her distance but it’s fairly large. Also BS on the two boom theory, just means she waits a few frames longer since his recovery is so shitty on it. You can bully chun from the air though as at a lot of angles she can’t do shiz, and of course that stomps beats EX SBK is silly indeed.

According to SRK wiki,

“Hyakuretsu EX - Strike (but not throw) invincible 1~15f”

Uh, I wrote that because I know that you can trade with it but I’ve never been stuffed before, and so I extrapolated that it would be invincible up until the active frames.

So whats up with Seth’s 360? I seem to be thrown out of it sometimes?

Can someone enlighten me please?

Unless you EX it isn’t throw invincible and has start up.

So one slow boom can stuff it but you are saying she will pass through two EX booms?

I’ve seen one slow boom stuff it if you don’t throw it on her wakeup. I have no idea if that is just bad timing on her part or what but two booms stuffs sagats ultra. I would imagine that if she has that much invulnerability on her Ultra she would not have to be so precise timing an Ultra through a slow boom.

I’ll go test in training I suppose.

EDIT: I have no idea how anyone can get stuffed with a sonic boom when doing Chun Li’s Ultra. That ish passes through EX and normal booms easycake.

So the EX version is basically a Zangief SPD?

except it does like, half as much damage as Giefs. Y_Y

Just curious, can Seth be killed in a single combo string? If not then what’s the closest he’ll come to death? I was messing around in Training mode and managed to do 67.3%(around 87.4% I think when including his low health) damage with Sagat. I did j. HP>c. MK>HP Uppercut>FADC>High Step Kick>Ultra to get that result.

I got a little curious because Seth can really frustrate players with his move set which can be used for rushing down or turtling. But all that hard work could go to waste in a single combo string that may put him at less then 20% heath depending on the character and the combo.

Gief counter headbutt --> ultra will kill a Seth

Gouken (EX palm has to launch in corner): J.FP, s.FP xx EX palm, EX fireball, Ultra.

673 dmg I think…

no i wouldn’t the thing i love about seth is I have so many options. great rush down, great zoning, a command grab. i find him the most fun to play and i win with him on consistently since he became my main.

Wait, SPD isn’t throw invincible? I could have sworn I’ve used it to beat people’s tick throws if they’re predictable.

If you’re getting thrown out of it, you’re probably trying to throw then while they’re in blockstun, and then they throw you during your recovery.

pretty sure ex palm into ultra does more damage than anything inbetween like fireballs

Damn, I just saw a video of chun combos. She can go above 70%

Imagine if you’re Seth and you’ve been doing everything right and have her near death, but somehow everything aligned for the Chun player and you get hit with that shit. Man it would blow to be killed in a single combo, but she can do that to Seth it seems.
