And guess who else that’s ranked fairly low can make one guess between a cross-up, an instant overhead, a divekick, an empty jump into spd, an empty jump into dp, a grab… aside from fuerte perhaps, regardless of the amount of risk you’re taking, momentum can always get you pretty far just because it’s impossible to fend off every option.
But whatever. I’m not here to argue that Seth is top tier. Just that mix up characters can go pretty far, as shown consistently in tournaments. If it helps you to think that it’s impossible, so be it.
I never said it was impossible so please fuck off with that. I said Seth has issues and you’re arguing that he somehow doesn’t because he can mix people up. That’s such a hilariously one sided view of Seth or any character that it isn’t worth arguing over to begin with. So yeah, whatever…
I guess we both have to learn how to read since you claimed that I thought it was impossible for Seth to win or be viable. Which nobody ever really contested either, since it was only said you had to work 3x as hard (which you do.) No character has issues opening people up that’s ranked low except Dan, and I contested that when I said “I don’t really think it matters that much in the long run.”
Difference in opinion, everyone gets salty. It’s hugely irrelevant to the topic so let’s just drop it.
Seth works really hard to get in, and when you do, there isn’t really a super solid go-to option, so you have to keep working hard, guessing what your opp’ will do and just live on the edge. This is true.
It’s also true that, as a mix-up character, 1 time you get in can mean a round gone, so in that sense he and any mix-up character is viable, as long as the opp guesses wrong.
All in all, problem with Seth is that he’s not solid, like the top tiers in this game. He’s all flimsy and his advantage is that he has a great DP, builds good meter and that he can mindfuck you pretty well.
Poongko won SS with seth, archives are on the Shadowloo Showdown justin.tv page. It was a trip watching Poongko play.
I started off thinking yeah he’s using Ironfisttactics. That’s how it is? Just mash DP/SPD? Then walk up and do another DP/SPD, and if they block your dp then fadc it and do another DP/SPD. If you get a random legs blocked or point blank stand fierce then you might well get away with it because you play fast and nobody knows the match. Then if anyone asks, you had great “reads” and “mind games”, it wasn’t just mental die throwing. Not even a die really, more a coin.
The real reason I’m pissed is because I had some romanticised notions of Street Fighter, when actually I’ve been playing JustDoIt for the last 2 years. With the most JustDoingItest character in the game. Fuck.
Like thewhiteghost said ^, to keep the momentum going. Also to keep characters that you want close to you, next to you. (example: Dhalsim,Guile, Abel, Elf, Chun…Etc.) Only good to use this Midscreen, anytime near the corner Always go for Legs for the extra damage and reset fro toe taps.
On another note, does anyone ever F up the input for teleport on wakeup and end up doing EX legs by accident and having it connect? Makes me fell hella pro, lol
Question here…I’ve been watching match vids and notice people doing crumple or stun combos with cr. hp jump mp (one hit) land, shoryu, focus cancel, then stomps and etc. How the hell do I land that Shoryu? I’ve tried using different tanden strengths and different shoryu strengths, is there a correct combination of the 2 I am missing?..
Ive searching for this by some time now and failed, so I will ask for once;
How to do Seth’s 6 hit EX shoryuken? I managed to make it work against grounded opponents from point blank, but it seens so random that im starting to think that you need to do something else than 3 dps.
edit: nevermind, all you have to do is to delay the second hit of the move.
