I do this combo too but I more often use c.LP, since it’s faster, and safer if I miss the link without canceling to legs.
In general I use a lot of s.HK when the opportunity presents itself. After stomp reset, sometimes I use it with the mentality “if they block or reversal, it’s just the same as if I had used c.LK, so I might as well go for direct damage without being too risky” and it takes care of focus/armor pretty well.
Other times I use it for reset purposes: Midscreen, depending on the range, you can sneak in an SPD afterward. Say you focus cancel from boom and don’t necessarily wanna chase the other player by going for legs, you’ll still get good damage from s.HK, plus unscaled damage from SPD. Also after a fierce jump in, if you go straight for s.HK, then LP SPD is usually possible right after.
Same as in the corner, sneaking the SPD comes much more freely.
If you’re midscreen and don’t want to play high risk, then either do the combo (which also shows the other player you can do the combo), or you could bait out and punish reversals in one way or another since s.HK provides a fair amount of frame advantage.
So yeah I like s.HK. I think it helps Seth’s mindgames a lot.
If u dnt want to chase them instead of doing legs do shoryu for damage and mixup

Never thought of that, thxs.
Easiest way to tick into SPD without getting other special moves?
I’m trying to start from down-forward jab, down-back jab and other moves and I just have a lot of trouble pulling off a quick tick SPD.
Seth noob here. :woot:
I’m always having trouble with canceling s.close HP into sonic boom, but when I do s.close HP into legs (both sides) I have no problem executing it 99% of the time. Am I timing it wrong because they both have different start ups? (though its a cancel into a special). :\
No man, the timing of the qcb and qcf inputs are the same for each cancel. Or maybe it just feels the exact same when I do it. But it should be exactly the same, just do it fast.
I always start from down-left corner (when jabbing from either side), then buffer the 360 shortcut input beginning at up-left corner counter-clockwise to right+lp… Works for me when timed right… Every now and again I get tanden engine because I didn’t go all the way to right…
Is anybody else finding Shortcuts even more destructive in AE? Playing as Seth, Sonic boom = SPD. Tanden Engine = SPD. It’s wasting a whole lot of my money and making me look stupid -_-.
Maybe you’re not used to the stick in the cabinet?
Ae cabs are circle gate.
For that smooth, effortless rotation.
Speaking of misinputs, do you think Capcom fixed the :dp::3p: ex shoryu thing?
Whats wrong with that? 2p for ex and 3 for teleport.
but sometimes pressing PPP still results in an EX shoryu instead of a teleport.
Negative edge.
because negative edge doesnt work on teleport
u are just pressing and releasing the buttons 2 early
edit:
ohhhhhh…
Anyone know what happened to that sweet seth player named “l BEHR l” or something like that? He played on the Xbox 360.
Is the timing different on SRK xx FADC xx Stomps on Dudley or Adon?
A lot of times I get a clean SRK off (on either) and go for neutral stomps and they whiff completely.
Been wondering this for a while, just never asked it.
if you do c.hp srk, do c.hp x2 srk then stomps if you do srk fadc you can’t neutral jump headstomp(maybe you can delay headstomps like on Guile), just do jump forward headstomp.
