Which character are you doing this on?
most likely Sagat from a wall jump?? lolol
sakura
Follow up the j.hk with a cr.lk instead of a cr.lp. Starts from a low and only 1 frame slower.
Also if you’re landing a deep j.hk and you know it’s gonna land why not do cr.hp instead? >>
Because I was expecting my opponent to block a safe jump.
Oh. Yeah, just do cr.lk.
yeah, I’ve whiffed my c.LP over Sakura once, I kinda raged.
magmaFisher was it you I played in an endless last night?? I can’t remember as after the match I went to bed. If so you got a nice Seth looking at the crossups you doing. Good to see the main reason to perform neutral jump Stomps though. I messed on on that last round. My hand just slid right off my stick lolol I did a SRK when I wanted to Tanden engine lol
It’s happened a couple of times. The first time (I forget against who) I just thought it was in my head. The second time it was pretty obvious to me.
Hehe yeah that was me. I was gonna play other characters but then you picked Seth and I wanted to show you some setups. Some tips:
[]Pick U1 vs fireball characters definitely. Also in the mirror match whiffed j.hp = free on reaction U1. It also punishes teleports easily on reaction. So always pick U1 in the mirror.
[]On a neutral j.hp or a shallow j.hk follow it up with a cr.mk instead of a cr.mp. Better range and easier to hit-confirm.
[]Punish midscreen with cr.hp xx lp shoryu -> stomps.
[]Abuse teleport against chars that have strong mixups. Not even necessarily on wakeup, because that’s when everyone’s looking for it. Do it after blocking a crossup, in the middle of blockstrings, etc.

Seth with pants > broken Seth.
All I can think of.
Whats the secret behind tapdancing on certain chars after srk fadc? For some chars, like the new ones, I FADC, jump straight up and do my kick, and it whiffs completely.
I pick U2 cause I’m trying to get out of the habit of relying on Ultra Traps… (i’m still used to it and it don’t work) plus it makes me learn how to get in on characters more rather than turtling too much. But good to know about projectile types but it doesn’t work too well on Guile I must say though.
yeah the Medium kick has better range and can get you in closer to oponant but I find using C.Mp a lil more useful for pushbacks into LP tanden trap set up. (although it cna be countered if I’m not tapping LP fast enough on recover)
I can’t see a benefit on abusing teleport since they nerfed it from Vanilla… Unless you’re using 3k And tele in and out in front of the person??
If someone catches you offguard your crossup game can be shut down quickly from any SPD type char so be careful. I was watching for it but you missed the dash and stayed in front of me and I wasn’t able to block down back fast enough with the correction so you caught me BUT I was waiting for you to try that on me lol.
Honestly. The best thing you guys can do (at least in your area) to mess with your SF colleagues would be to alternate Ultras each month to see if they throw out stupid shit.
I have used solely Ultra 2 for the last 3 months, I decided to pull Ultra 1 out at TW this weekend (Had 6 matches), and landed almost EVERY single Ultra 1 (2x I missed because i’m a fucking idiot sometimes). It just goes to show how people in your area learn to beat you based on your habits rather than the match-up.
P.S. Seth is in play-offs for TournamentWars in Seattle and that happens next weekend. Be sure to pop into the stream as I’m playing AwesomeJones (An amazing Dhalsim, whom I like to believe is on the level of J.Cole) and DeLucifer (Badass Blanka, beat KDZ’s Abel on the big screen at Evo this year).
Don’t do stomps instantly, wait a second before jumping.
I mean teleporting away from pressure. Even with the nerf teleport is still a good escape tool.
You mean the left/right walk underneath reset crossup? Here’s a list of things I do that will beat wakeup SPD from Seth/Hakan/Zangief.
[]SPD
[]Shoryuken FADC
[]instant air stomp
[]neutral jump

backdash
So yeah SPD doesn’t ‘shut down’ my mixup. It just is something I have to be aware of.
What’s the best way to tackle highly aggressive players? In your face, ambiguous cross ups etc. My long-range defensive game is pretty solid (for a beginner) but as soon as someone gets in close but is smart enough to avoid wake-up spds and other wake up moves I’m in big trouble. I try and focus>dash away from crossups where possible, but that doesn’t always work.
Try just blocking on get up. Seth has 3 options that must be respected, DP,SPD, and Teleport. The less you use each of these option’s per match the better they’ll work out for you in the long run. When someone gets in close, Ex SPD is free on tick throws. Also save focus back-dashing for getting out of poke pressure. With seth’s back-dash its easy to open up some space even off one focused poke. Close standing fierce is a great anti-air on aggressive players. It stops jump ins and prevents cross ups if timed correctly. Another good way out of cross up’s is an auto-correct teleport. If you time your teleport just as they are passing over you, it will cause you to teleport to the opposite side of the screen.
If you can autocorrect teleport you should have done autocorrect DP instead in general.
Teleport autocorrects a lot easier it seems.
This.
