Seth Killian Leaving Capcom

it’s hard to point out a fighting game who doesn’t look anime because the most “american” current fighting game (MK) is “weeaboo” as fuck

This whole thread, man.

I just…

Arcana Heart is cute not ecchi.

Well except Scharl and Petra. Who are honestly still less sexualized than nearly every female Street Fighter character. (shoutouts to Makoto)

Not interested enough in beating square pegs into round holes to say anything else.

How did we get from talking bout what Seth to talking bout which fighting games are more anime

It’s the standard deflection tactic for Capcom criticism these days.

At least Capcom can count on the attention span of its fans to not last for more than a couple of hours.

How the hell did the thread derail to talking about how “anime” a game looks? Seth left Capcom, Capcom looks shady as fuck with the exodus of high visibility employees.

This is our way of expressing grief.
It’s the only way grown fighting gamers can cry.

Looking at the last few pages of this thread makes me somewhat realize why the majority of SRK does not touch the FGD much.

Uh dude Arcana Heart is pretty god damn sexualized, even if there isn’t a panty shot to be found in the game.

I mean I fucking love the game but god willing I’d banish those side banners in AH3 to hell before I ever actually want them in there over solid black bars.

Clearly this is all your fighting game’s fault.

The list wasn’t meant to complete, I really should have included Marvel and Darkstalkers too. Visually a big part of having an ‘anime’ look is a level of ornateness. SF or Marvel characters look really plain compared to say GG, so they seem less on that side of things.

Hey now! I didn’t start either of these discussions and they were going just fine without me!

Which ties to side discussion 3, ‘them insisting on it looking like that hurts a games community’. Skullgirls has a similar problem really.

Edit:

We’re drawn together by a love of dispute, it takes a mans man to stick it out ><

The side bars don’t exist in my mind. I have locked away their existence. Also I play Kamui so I don’t know shit about shit.

Mostly though Street Fighter girls are ridiculously sexualized. Chun-Li’s SFII outfit is a joke, I don’t think anyone needs to explain Cammy, Rose is actually covered up but looks like a prostitute regardless, Sakura is…actually around the level of Arcana Heart but has more silly fanservice move animations, Elena is barely wearing anything, Ibuki has those ridiculous hip windows and S-tier tatas, C.Viper’s design philosophy is straight up trying to make an American sexualized female character, Juri is practically a rapist, and Poison exists.

How about I write 2,000 words on why Seth was great for the community and this thread gets closed?

Why are people always so pro thread-closing?

Everybody’s being polite and enjoying themselves at this point, we don’t have any yelling matches, what’s the harm that it’s gone slightly (lolol) offtopic?

Thread derailed on page 4 and 5

You’ll be able to spot the posts.

Because one of the communities own managed to get a job at Capcom and lobby for us. The importance of this cannot be understated. Instead of taking time to simply appreciate that we were in there, you guys are going on about bullshit.

So fuck all of you for not taking to moments to just appreciate that he was there to fight the good fight and get shut down.

That would be preferable actually.

Because threads that have continued like this one are a dime a dozen. I think Pertho’s point is that he would rather give a formal sign off to S-Kill than bastardize his name with this thread, which we all have done by posting in it with things unrelated, including myself.

Shout outs to Seth, he is the man! I’m sure he has a sick gig already lined up.

Shout outs to all the idiots talking about anime too, really classy.

Always comes to the same thing for me, you can ignore the threads you don’t like, instead of trying to assert control :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s the way it goes though, the guy got plenty of appreciation in this thread, there’s only so many ways you can say the same 2 or 3 things.

And ultimately he's a dude quitting his job. He was well-loved in the community, I get all that, but it's not like he's owed some kind of solemn respect either.

He did his job, he got paid, he was more than willing to spew PR bullshit for them, he got tired of it or got a better offer, he quit.

We need a few fewer graven images around here, when you get right down to it.
