To be quite frank guys, the moment I saw the confirmed nerfs of Seth from these videos, I got a severe nosebleed from sadness and anger ( more onto sadness though :c ), not much from Ultra 2 fail, but the more essential stuff like stomps and dive kick, and lol @ 1 frame less in sonic boom recovery.

Heck even Yun can fight Seth at full screen :(.

The dive kick hit at 0:36 didn’t combo into cr.lp and if you hit it like that in SSF4 on Ibuki it combos [into cr.lk], so he either missed the link [he was not great] or the hit stun reduction is in play.

2:56 of that same video vs REGO’s Ibuki, a point-blank teleport that goes unpunished. I have a feeling it might be back. The old tele that is.

And confirmation that cr.HP xx lp.SRK>RiverDance>DiveKick stil works. he does it on the last round.

So they give us scrubby dive kick and maybe vanilla teleport? :smiley:

Yeah, on the other video it did seem faster at first (like i said) but then i dismissed after watching it a few more times. I think you were right.

if dive kick is that bad then they should have just removed it, although it can still be used just to change the trajectory of the jump

other words its bad to be used as an offensive move

and ye, i kinda noticed that his teleport recovery is vanilla

In the last round of that Seth vs Ibuki movie theres a cr.hp -> lp srk -> stomps -> dk combo, so it is apparently still possible.

The DK has been nerfed though.

I think you could still combo into it, but you would have to step on the opponent’s foot to do it.

It would no doubt still work as a very deep meaty, unfortunately it always did, now it will just be even harder to perform.

Man im confused. I just wish theyd release this already. do it like a bandaid and pull it off quickly!! That way we can all practice.

Everything (combos, bnb) seems just alil harder to pull off but still possible. u might be able to U2 chip if you do it earlier??? like when the tornado is already out, the opponent wakes up and is trapped? or do it like you do now against the chars that can get out with ex moves, not get right next to them on wakeup. Rather away enough to be safe from reversal.

My opinion is based on jack shit, but I think he might not be as bad as we thought he’d be… maybe… I hope.

I just want to have a reason to keep playing this game and this character.

I know what you’re saying Kanta. It’s up to us as Seth players to put together an effective playstyle based on what Seth can do in A.E.

Look at Makoto in SSF4, she was a very low tier character but VRyu managed to put together a really sick offensive playstyle and ran a train through loads of players.

Or you can be like Daigo whose previous main (Ryu) wasn’t even nerfed that bad, but he jumped ship to the new supposed top tier character (Yun), lol.

I don’t give a shit about Seth as a character. I only play him because of his SF4 gameplay / part of SSF4 gameplay. If that is gone then I have no reason to play the character. I don’t play a character because I enjoy their background or aesthetics, that means nothing to me.

yeah, different reasons I guess. I’m a bit on both sides. I play him because he’s badass and trolls you with his superiority and also because that reflects in his gameplay, with all the mixups and shit.
