[Sept 15th] Capitol Fight District - $50 bonus for Melee

Ninjay, let’s actually consider Soul Calibur V as an experiment for the first Capitol Fight District. If there isn’t enough interest, then we’ll debunk it, but it’s worth a shot.

oh yeah, SCV comes out soon. D:

I’m down. I wasn’t planning on buying it right away, so if someone brings a set up, then we can do SCV

Flier looks great, ninjay.
And no it doesn’t have any lag. I wouldn’t be able to play on it if it did! I’d brought it to a tourney once and they used it for MvC3, as well.

Thanks. What brand and model number is your TV/Monitor?

I still don’t quite agree with the $2 fee towards setups because we haven’t seen a need for more setups yet. I suggest re-evaluating this fee until a later point in time when it’s apparent that more setups are needed.

Barring that, suggestion to waive the $2 fee that goes to setups if a person brings a full setup. People who help out should be given incentive to continue helping out. This would apply on a per tourney basis.

That sounds like a plan. That’s how it’s been done at any events I’ve been to. Bring a console/TV, $1 off… bring both, $2 off?

I want to say it’s a Viore LED22VF50. I would obviously notice if it lagged at all, wouldn’t I?

Never hurts to ask. HDTVs don’t have a good track record for low input lag, and unless it’s listed here,it’s hard to know if it lags or not. Informal tests such as the “Rock Band calibration test” and “one-framers are no problem for me on it” don’t usually hold water.

I do not oppose this suggestion. I think that would be a good incentive for people to bring in setups. I still want to see the original plan through, at least for the first one.

If this does turn out to be conflicting to a lot of people, then I will change it.

Understood

Hm… well it doesn’t lag even with a Wii, which is really surprising. But I don’t know if that holds any merit. It’s actually a really nice little TV.

No idea if it holds merit or not but assistance offered is appreciated nonetheless. Our experienced SFIV and MVC3 players will probably be able to tell (still informal but it’s something) and if they come they might be able to shed some light on the matter. Even the Evo monitor is not truly “lagless;” it just averages out to less than 1 frame lag when compared to a CRT TV or monitor. If it ends up lagging we’ll know not to use it in the future.

Jay, if I’m coming, I’ll try to bring some equipment; I’ll text you about it around the tournament date.

@stylo
I have read some reviews about it being ok as a gaming monitor. You are more than welcome to bring it. We can test it out to see if it will work for the tourney.

@Romeo
Thanks man. Since I am going back to work in the Sac branch again soon, I should be able to go to the TapEx tourneys. I will be able to bring some setups too.

Oh, it says “randon game” on the flyer haha. Just letting you know

Yep, and I’m missing the end parenthesis too. Geeze!

Done deal, then. I’ll bring a setup

Even though KS2 is the same day, you’ll still have my attendance, Jay.

Same. KS2 (with CVS2) and all but I gotta give some love to the city.

I’m lazy. So I’ll come to this instead of going to KS2. YAY SAC.

Definitely gonna make this one. I specifically requested the day off for it!

If you need help spreading the word, lemme know!
