HOUSTON POWER RANKINGS F.A.Q.
WHAT ARE HOUSTON POWER RANKING (HPR) POINTS?

Houston Power Ranking points is a measure of tournament performance at Thurs Night Expose. In the future other tournaments in houston will qualify for ranking points so stay tuned for updates and announcements.

WHAT GAMES QUALIFY FOR RANK?

Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. More games will be added in the future if interest builds so stay tuned for updates and announcements.

IS THIS GOING TO BE IN SEASONS?

We are thinking about turning Thurs Night Expose into seasons. Once everything in set in stone we will let everyone know more information. Until then, this is strickly for rank to see who the best players in houston texas are. Time to level up!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Players will compete at Thurs Night Expose and battle it out through top 8. When the tournament is over, the top 8 players will receive HPR ranking points(RP) and entered in our database along with cash pot payouts.

HOW MANY POINTS DO YOU GET FOR PLACING TOP 8?

1st Place = 8 pts. 2nd Place = 7 pts. 3rd Place = 6 pts. 4th Place = 5 pts.

5th Place = 4 pts. 6th Place = 4 pts. 7th Place = 3 pts. 8th Place = 3pts.

ARE THESE CASH PAYOUTS & ARE THERE ANY INCENTIVES?

YES! Cash payouts to Top 3 finishers at the end of every tournament plus HPR points to Top 8 placements.

ANY OTHER SPECIAL INCENTIVES?

A special prize will go to the player that has the most points within a 2-6month time frame. As of right now, I am discussing with Smileys on what prize me and them are willing to give out. When details are set in stone, I will post an update so stay tuned!

Due to new games being added to the line up D&B times have been changed from 7-12mid to 6-12 mid. Also Street Fighter X Tekken has been added to the lineup. Livestream is being worked out right now so when the stream goes live Ill post and let everyone know. Stay tuned!

Hey I’m just curious if this will be an on going thing kind of like WNF? Currently, I am god awful at fighting games but I’m trying to get to a competitive skill level, which might take a while. I’ve been trying to find a FG scene in Houston for a while but don’t want to have to drive all the way to UFO arcade, so this is perfect!

To answer your questions we really haven’t made a decision on if were going to do seasons yet because im talking with D&B corporate and seeing what kind of prizes and pot bonuses there willing to sponsor. Until everything is solid this is strictly for rank and leveling up. Come thru 2nite and Ill introduce you to everyone. Look forward to meeting you and btw what games do you play?

Well, I just got SSF4 AE, UMvC like a month ago, and SFxT a day after release. I can do combos, but the hard part for me is getting in on someone and opening them up, it’s like everyone else can do it to me but i can’t do it to them lol!

I’ve been watching wednsday night fights and other streams for about a year now, i just decided to get involved in it recently though.

Thursday Night Expose Stream: The stream will launch in the beginning of May. We had been looking into what wireless internet company to use and still havent made a decision. Most likely it will be clear. Once we have the stream link ill update everyone!

Do we need to bring our own controllers? If so can we play with a standard PS3 controller hooked up with USB?

Yes this is still going on. We recently moved venues, the new venue is Smileys located on at 9903 S Highway 6, Sugar Land, TX 77498. The hours are from 7pm-1am. What games do you play?
