DevilJin already IMd me a few days ago and we’ve been talking! Yeah, I’m definitely going to do everything I can for you guys. I’m on the case. Looking forward to talking with Autumn again.
My bad then for misunderstanding.
I already got all my friends hype, so the chance of us going is still pretty high even without sg being official.
Yeah man!! That’s what we do with SB. I mean we’ve seen a lot of interest and that’s why I’m gonna do whatever I can for your scene. Either way we just have to figure out when it’s best to run. I’ll post up and let you guys know.
Chris, I’ll have Jeff put this on the agenda to discuss at our Season’s Beatings meeting this coming Monday.
Lets go VDO ima bring out my Scrub tactics
Hey, we have a question for everyone. Season’s Beatings is 3 days after DOA5 launch, so obviously it’s its first major. We’re SUPER hype to work with PerfectLegend on this, and Team Ninja’s creative director has been VERY positive about getting us official support, soon.
We are thinking of making DOA5 $5 entry instead of $10 because we just don’t think a ton of people will pre-reg for DOA without playing it. I think $5 is more appropriate for a brand-new game that has been out of the competitive scene for years.
What do you guys think about the change? Basically we want the biggest pot AND the most people playing as possible. I think $5 entry would get a bigger pot than $10 TBH from my long-time experience as a director and knowing player tastes.
I posted this on the Competitive DOA Players group on Facebook as well. Please ask other serious and casual players to get some opinions for us on this. We just want the biggest pot but also the most people to try the game, too. For me, if I thought the game looked cool but didn’t play it seriously if it was brand new, I would probably try it at $5 at a major if I only playing one other game, just to have another thing to try out, but I don’t think a new player would for $10. Thanks.
If you cut it in half you end up hurting the pot more. So let’s say 20 people show up at $10 a piece, then you have $200. But if you cut that in half to $5 you not only are discrediting the game by advertising it as “not as worthy as our other games”, but now you have the pot prize at $100 and you would need 20 more casual players who may or may not take the game seriously just to get back up to the original prize of $200.
Hmm, that’s a tough one. I agree with Sorwah but my opinion is kinda split. Since DOA is coming out only for a few days before SBa it may be tough to get a lot of people to sign up, especially since there’s an ass-ton of fighters already out (what is this the freakin’ 90’s?).
If we our getting support from Team Ninja/Koei I really don’t see why it wouldn’t be a $10 signup. I did $10 signups for Skullgirls at SB:v Road to Evo 2012 (much smaller event than our annual) and the Japanese version of P4 at our monthly local before it was released in the US at both these I was able to get a 16 man (although I had to hustle to get people) tourney done. So in short, register for DOA5 people!
I’m sure there will be some casual play done before the tournament for any of those interested in seeing how much the game has changed for the better. Just ask one of the players who will be there like NinjaCW and Perfect Legend to explain to you why this is easily the best and most competitive version of DOA. The VF crew should take a shot at it. I know I heard some local VF players who got the chance to try Sarah and Akira mention how nice the movement system is and fluid it looks.
Another World player for the UMVC3 5v5 will be incoming soon
You said Frutsy…
One of the guys from the FRB crew…
Would you let us know already?! (=^.^=)
Hey do you have any confirmations on anyone outside of the USoA coming for AE?
Mvc2 again!!! there is any old school player confirmed yet? Ive seen some Sanford recent videos… so I hope some of em can make it
Hmm hoping Sanford can come, he’s still not sure about his playing status. I’m pretty confident we’ll have a couple Marvel players here
TONIGHT we’re going to announce more PLAYER confirmations who are invading SB on our weekly stream which is provided by Console Combat, our partners and hardware providers. One of them is an expert at Tactical Espionage Action, the other is the best contestant on Team World for the MvC3 5v5!
[twitch.tv/consolecombat](‘http://HEY I have more announcements for SBa to make on the stream1 Is it cool to post that?’) – 9 p.m. – please tune in quick and spread the word, and subscribe to our Twitch and Youtube channels if you approve!!
Looking forward to getting MvsC 2 casuals w/ other players, def had fun last yr!
So whats up with the 3s at Season’s? Tournament on h2h?
If you guys really want to do H2H tubes for supergun 3s, it’s possible. Let me see how many tubes our partners, Console Combat, can bring. Anyone able to provide extra BYOC equipment for your respective games of choice, it will be most welcome.
lol also we might be able to run CvS2 on arcade hardware, if that’s of extra interest to CvS fans.
If you didn’t catch our big, latest SB announcements last night on the consolecombat stream, I’ll post up tomorrow and link you to the stream archive if you’d like to check it out. You might also catch a glimpse of the legendary Sheng Long I discovered mid-match too. I think we finally found how powerful Ryu’s DP really is.
Added: Total pot of $5,000 is guaranteed for both SF4 and MvC3. Meaning that just like last year, no matter how many people come or do not come the total pot will not be below $5k in either game.
edit: TTT2 has a $1k pot minimum, as well
^ I don’t approve of this post since I got hit with this BS because Chun-Li has Sentinel’s hitbox in SF: Hyper Fighting…
So saving up for p4a and ttt2,might enter umvc3 if I have enough will have the money but mid september wanna go to SB as I’ve never been to a tourney also any news about the international sf players?
Laugh and Infiltration have been confirmed!
