I’ve always wanted to get into Mahjong, but now is the time…actually playing Yak Kiwami was the time to do it, but better late than never…
The Kanda fight was hilarious. Nishikiyama bringing in the psychos. I get dude’s family is pissed but damn, these fools are just OUT THERE.
Didn’t get the Komaki tech until after that fight, but you can get it before, from what I read.
Always good to see Komaki sensei
Now just to melt fools like butter At the start of Chapter 7 and taking a break. Typing this reminded me that I have missions to do involving a bikini babe. Hope I can go back to it since I’ve only done one, but wanted to do more.
Looking at the achievement list it looks like this game is pretty short.
Just won a round with a full straight using Bamboo and Dora with the Dragon Tiles. Got really lucky with the hands I was dealt, and almost didn’t call my win (Ron), since I assumed it was asking if I wanted to steal or meld, like it usually does, haha.
Yakzua 3. Got sucked into the story again and didn’t max out Kiryu. Had the necessary moves regardless. Game was great! I don’t understand the rep this game has. Fanbases… The ‘traditional’ beat’em up style felt great here, especially with the upgraded abilities.
The last boss was awesome, and was with past bosses, gave me that feeling of playing this genre as a kid on the Genesis but with today’s tech. Gonna start 4 sooner than later.
Got 3 million from beating Y3 and that’s all going to Mahjong
Got past the early part with Saejima…it was rough. I fell into the trap of playing to calculated vs yolo. Found, the One-Two (Square, Triangle) charged hits people if they are on the ground. Made more use of the Should Tackle.
The combinations of enemies; Tank, Weapon, Grappler, Sniper and Stun were nuts, but considering what the story called for it’s understandable, lol!
Had to play a gross hit-n-run type of gameplan but it worked, eventually, but was still enough to make me shake if I decided to use a katana or take someone on in a 1 on 1 or 1 on 2, haha! Trying to fight more than two people at a time is a no go.
In the previous post I mentioned that I had to watch unskippable cutscenes which I hate, but the restaurant scene is forever G.O.A.T.
RE: Y7, I wonder if not-Japan will have those in the game when localized? I’m allowed to hope, no?
I’ll be optimistic that those modes won’t be DLC when the game drops outside of Japan, and just be in the base game
Seeing my last post about Yakuza in here, was about Saejima in Yakuza 4, I’ll post that I’m in the Saejima part of Yakuza 5. The hunting part is pretty awesome, imo. I just finished fighting Yama-oroshi for the second time. I was doing cool and had plenty of health, but decided to head back to the village after using up half my ammo.
I’m guessing it’s not a winnable scenario considering what happens afterwards. Good shit regardless. The characters having the VF move sets throughout the series is badass, as are the Dural textures. The Mountain Gods bits are hilarious.
I’m done with Saejima part and on to Bust-A-Groove, lol. Not gonna lie, I’m digging Haruka’s section so far. Doing all the side missions as much before doing the main story bits.
Going around town and listening in on conversations. I can only think of my teenage years when you read what the teenage boys are saying. SEGA and their localizers really hit the nail on the head with these parts. Same with the middle-aged men talking about it trying to figure out what their daughters are talking about when it comes to idol culture, lol!
Back to Saejima. I wanted to explore more on his part, but decided against it. I’m getting impatient, in a good way, but there are fights going on like crazy. The most I’ve seen, thus far, in the series. I wanted to explore more, but also can’t wait to see what’s next.
Nagasugai and Tsukimino are really cool. Sotenbori is always looking awesome. The graphics jump from to 5 is pretty damn huge, I wasn’t expecting much but yeah. Seeing the PS3 evolution from 3 to 4 to 5/0/Kiwami is really cool.
Likewise Kamurocho’s changes from these titles is a lot cooler than it has any right to be. Yeah, it’s asset reuse, but damn did they do a fine job with it regardless. Being a late bloomer and all but being able to see how Kamurocho has progressed from 0 to Judgment is definitely one of the coolest things I’ve seen pulled off in video games. The history aspect has really immersed me in the world. Hats off to Nagoshi and SEGA for this.
Just finished a dance battle on the street against a B rank dancer. I somehow won, but I’m not ready for this…especially with the inevitable ramp up, lol…
Got the dancing down like not problem. Story is now getting juicy. Akiyama staying GDLK with the Haruka bits and air combos. I’m progressing faster than I thought which is cool.
Started Shinada’s story last night and played the first battle. His fighting style is interesting so far. I like it and it reminds of the bar brawls you see in old movies and tv shows, lol. Have to stop since the living room is busy and I’m not sure what to expect with Milky-chan, but I’m not risking it, lol. So this is probably where progress slows down.
Probably a good time to fire up Yakuza 3 and do the boss rushes in the fighting game machine. I still have Hitman missions as well.
