Yakuza Dead Souls is still one of my favorite Yakuza games…I just need to finish it.

I wish the game didn’t have the politician. He came out of nowhere and completely one note. I wish they could have kept Nishiki as the main villain.
For a tagalong kid Haruka is alright. Wasn’t annoying, didn’t get in the way and actually helped a few times. Kudos for making actually like a character in her role. I got a 5 month wait for Kiwami 2 and who knows how long it take for me to get caught up to play 6.

I think it’s finally time I post in this thread since I got Yakuza : Kiwami a couple of weeks ago. Been playing it on and off but I like it. I always wanted to play a Yakuza game but was skeptical even though I loved Shenmue which I thought it played just like it. I’m at the part where I have to save Haruka from the batting cages.
All I have to say is KIRYU-CHAN!!!

Yakuza 6 is looking hype. Are all the Yakuza games stories connected? Like do i have to play the other games or I can just play Yakuza 6 and be fine. I’m in the midst of Kiwami right now.
They’re connected. Yakuza 6 gives text summaries of the previous games. I’ve only played 0 and Kiwami. I’ll probably dig into 6 this weekend.

Finished Yakuza 6 late last night. Overall it was a great game, and the last few chapters had me in tears a few times. The game was a great end to Kiryu’s story, and the story was pretty good, as expected, although a bit flawed as well. I wish the game was delayed a bit to allow the game to be fleshed out more. Very obvious the game was rushed with main characters written out of the story, sections of Kamurocho missing, less minigames, and less combat depth. Final boss felt very shoehorned as well. Like, the final boss fight wasn’t terrible, just the character itself is introduced way too late as a potential villain. There’s no buildup at all so the fight doesn’t feel very satisfying.
Anyways, overall great game. Just needed more content. Can’t wait for Kiwami 2!

- Yakuza 4 – Fall 2018
- Yakuza 5 – Spring 2019
The remastered releases will have improved resolution and frame rates.
