I actually like the button layout a lot in terms of functionality. You can play pretty much any fighting game with it. Having 4 buttons on a row with a fifth under your thumb, genius! Now you can RAZ your opponent all the way to heaven or Dust your fall from grace into the gates of hell…
…I know, playing GG with a Saturn peripheral seems odd but there is the Virtua Stick USB and the PS2 version, so…
He’s been a busy guy, as I guess not many people offer the service here in the UK, and he finally emailed me this week to say he was running my print today, so I should get an email from him requesting payment soon and then hopefully get it some time next week. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to take a photo once it’s here and again when I’ve applied it. I have ordered a spare, just in case I screw up the cutting, but if I make it through without needing it, then I’m happy to send it to someone for the cost of the printing and shipping.
In the meantime, I did notice that someone on Reddit had recently posted their HSS-0136 work log and he’d also gone down the route of redrawing the artwork, we could have saved each other some time and collaborated! I think the colours are a little too vidid for my liking, but he did a great job. Just wish I’d thought about trying to split the cardboard layer when I removed mine and I could have saved myself all this time and effort…
//edit
Just realised I said last time that he was running my print “today”, he was actually just doing the colour tests that day it seemed.
It’s really awesome to see some many people out there showing love to these old sticks. I hope the overlay holds up to abuse. He needs a thick overlaminate to ensure it lasts.
This reminds me to get off my ass and start my full-Sanwa mod blog post on my site…or really to get started in my website site period.
Is the HSS-0136 replacement art still available? It’s such a great job i’d like to use it for my project also if it’s ok? This work log is really helpful.
