Bobby Engram-36 years old, very dependable, yet wants more money. Don’t think he’s coming back…
Deion Branch-If he stays healthy dope! Can we bank on that?
Nate Burleson-No one comes back from an acl tear 100% right off the bat. He needs time to get back to the Nate we know and love.
Koren Robinson-Hmm…
Ben Obomanu-Huh?
Courtney Taylor-A boy named Courtney.
Logan Payne-Without having seen him play, I would’ve guessed he was a used cars salesman.
With a #4 pick, if Crabtree is on the board, can we really afford to pass him up? Either we trade down, or draft him. I don’t really see any other alternatives. Now the teams ahead of us have much more apparent issues than at wide receiver, and I’m sure the Seahawks will say that without the injuries the year would’ve been a lot different. While I think it’s very true, I’d say it would’ve probably been about oh…3,4 games different. Injuries weren’t our only problem, but we should definitely take the opportunity to draft the best player available and that’ll be Crabtree at #4. And with Jim Mora saying he’ll run first, you can’t really have the threat of play action if you don’t really have any receiving threats outside of your tight end =D.
Trade down and address more pressing issues. Grab a QB (I think Hasselbeck is about done) and a solid RB. Grab a 2nd or 3rd tier receiver in the later rounds if needed. I think WR is the most over-rated position in the NFL, just because you kinda need all of the other parts of your offense clicking before they provide the most benefit.
They need to bump up Jordan Kent to slot and switch to a 3-4 defense so they can have a beast LB core of Lofa, Hill, Peterson, and freakin’ DAVID THE HEATER HAWTHORNE. Fuck a DD Lewis.
Considering this year’s draft isn’t that hot and there’s no great QB prospect we have any chance of getting…why not Crabtree? Drafting a WR in the first is always iffy and I’m all for trading down to save money, but who else is worth taking over him?
Get me an OLine that’s healthy and looks like buff sumo wrestlers and I’m happy. You give the quarterback five minutes to pick someone to throw to, you’re set.
That was sad to see. Even more sad is the fact that the team has been tanking for the last few years and stocking draft picks. They’ve get a decent young nucleus, and look to be fairly competitive in 2 or 3 years. It’ll really hurt if I have to see them as perennial contenders for the span of a decade.
The Seattle Mariners were listed on ESPN as one of the eight pro Football and Baseball teams to have never made it to the championship game/series. We were listed amongst incredible sports franchises like…
Cleveland Browns
Detroit Lions
Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston Texans
New Orleans Saints
Texas Rangers
Washington Nationals
How sad is it, that there are only two other Baseball franchises outside of the Mariners that haven’t made it to the World Series?? ESPN seems to blame all our woes on the Kingdome and Bill Bavasi =/.
The sheer amount of times Gene Wojciechowski mentions Super Bowl XL is sickening. Fuck that guy, and fuck Pittsburgh. I can’t believe that for three hours on Sunday, I’m gonna be a Cardinals fan. Now I think I understand how Patriots fans felt this year when they had to root for the Jets to beat the Dolphins so that they could win the division.
This game made me glad that the Seahawks weren’t involved because as it was I fucking hated the refs for getting in the way of a good game. Watching them rape the Seahawks twice would have turned me off the NFL forever. This game was bullshit. I hope Roger Goodell tears the refs a new asshole. Fuck the Steelers. I hope “Goon” Harrison slips and falls in his kitchen and breaks his hip. If the Seahawks are out of it next year, I’ll root for the hated Cowboys. And hope that lightning strikes randomly take out Steelers players for the next several decades. Fuck the NFL. The fourth quarter where all of a sudden the Steelers get called for everything… BULLSHIT. Call an EVEN game, don’t make it “whomever the refs are favoring at this point surprisingly does well!”
The Huskies beating ASU was excellent. And the Cougs caught a break for once!
The roughing the passer penalty on Carlos Dansby was HORRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE. I also thought the unnecessary roughness penalty called on Adrian Wilson was kinda nasty too because what’s he supposed to do? Stop dead in his tracks even though he’s stumbling towards the place holder? Thank goodness Arizona’s defense held up at the goalline again. I did in fact experience deja vu watching that game. And when Larry Fitzgerald had that second td catch, I was truly convinced they were gonna win the game. He’s fucking amazing. Unfortunately the refs aren’t.
Not local sports related. But I was shocked at how awful this was. Everyone knows that I’m a geek. But even this was painful to endure.
And why couldn’t they find a respectable female athlete to throw in the mix as a knight? As it stands, this is one big gay joke. A group of guys that are mystified by the female anatomy. I mean, a bunch of dudes in search of the Holy G? Might as well come out and say that despite all the nookie that sports groupies provide, athletes still can’t find the G-spot.
I think the freak is played by Misty May and Keri Walsh. I still recall their volleyball on ice commercial half a decade ago. That was funny. This was not. No clue who played the squire.
This means the Hawks are probably going to use #4 on an offensive tackle rather than Crabtree. Can’t say I’m too happy, but it’ll be nice to have someone with height downfield a la DJ Hackett. With the acquisition, it might mean big numbers for whomever’s on the opposite side (Branch or Burleson).
This UW/ASU game is actually pretty damned good so far, especially given that ASU had gone on a 72-3 run in the first half.
edit: note that as soon as I said that, Hardin pushed Overton to the ground then ASU’s Glasser teabagged Overton, and they held up the game for five minutes to figure it all out via video. (3 fouls, 2 technicals, or something like that.) That was pretty hilarious.
If UW wins this game, I’ll go buy a UW shirt. Hilarious game.
edit2: Note that the entire 11-0 ASU run to seal the game happened when I went downstairs to welcome Gina. So, my bad, sorry. I forgot Rally Rules.
Speaking of the Seahawks, Julian Peterson got traded today. Apparently there was some bad blood brewing with him and the front office, so hopefully they did the right thing and got something in return before it was too late.
We’ll see. Seahawks will probably try and take Aaron Curry in the draft now (if he’s available), if they don’t get him then yeah, I could bet Hawthorne has a shot at it.
