OK… so I’m running CvS2 at SB:R.
People… PLEASE come out. I want to see how you guys want this ran. We’re gonna do it “high stakes”, so nothing less than $25 entry fee. I wanna run it at $50. What do you guys think?
If you love CvS2, come to this. Middle of the country… good players from all over coming out.

Pity such a great game, that had such a massive scene, is now basically dead

For my $0.02, I think the high-stakes idea is good, but anything over $20 or $25 may be pushing it. The majority of people who would enter are extremely out of practice but still really love the game. The higher the stakes, the more likely you chase out the borderline people who enjoy the game but know they wouldn’t win. Plus you have to consider all the other costs people are taking on to make it to SB. Would a decent amount of people want to shell out $50 for a “dead” game they haven’t played in months, if not years?
It really comes down to whether you want a stacked field of 8-10 people for $50, or a solid field of 15-20 for $20-$25. Those entrant numbers may not be exactly right, but you get the picture. Your call.
I would come if it wasn’t the weekend before my finals week. Hope it goes well though, and get some match vids!

Sorry I skipped over this thread when I asked about it. I think popoblo has a good point about the price, no more than $25 imo. If it has a good amount of entrants and ends up being hype, than that can set the ground work for bigger plans in the future.
