I know what you’re saying and I agree, but there are a handful of times where U.S. guys have beaten him in matches that matter.
Either way, it doesn’t really matter. Dude is exciting as hell to watch and that’s all I care about.
I also cheer for Justin because I like the variety of characters he uses and I think he’s exciting as well.
Sometimes I do wonder how Justin would do if he just went with a high tier character from the start and stuck with it as his main.

one thing Daigo has established over the decade is this epic competitive rivalry like USA and RUS in the Olympics.
Man, I was up in front and I don’t remember hearing a lot of boos for either guy, it seemed to be split 50/50 between supporters for each guy. And half of the people around me were just cheering everything.
I think the area in the back by the two players might have just had some boos that got caught on the mics that made it sound like more than it was.
The only time I heard boos were when Daigo FADC > Ultraed one time. People hate that combo haha.
As for Daigo not caring, it is pretty clear to me from his interviews that he doesn’t play to be the best… he just plays. A lot. And he strives to be as good as he can be, and it just so happens that he is more or less the best. Doubt that he would have lost sleep over the tourney results, win or lose. In fact, he’s probably pretty damn tired and asleep dreaming about being reunited with his precious ramen when he gets home lol

Jibbo vs Daigo in the teams battles was amazing too…it was my favorite single match of the tournament.
I think that Jibbo really had Daigo under good pressure, since its really not like Daigo to throw out punishable fireballs…but Jibbo was going right over many of his fireballs and then landing st.mk > hands > st.mk > hands.
It was an absolutely inspiring performance.
