People need to calm down on the whole “dick Riding” comments. I don’t see what’s wrong with people being fans… Shit, I’m a fan of both Daigo and Justin. And while I cheer my ass off for Wong, you bet your ass I’m a huge fan of Daigo. They are fucking celebrities. People nut and cream over “traditional” celebrities, so let them do the same for people who are at the top of a scene that they enjoy.
And i’ll say it now, I’ll never be as good as Daigo. Just like i’ll never be as good an actor as Don Cheadle or run as fast as Usain Bolt, or fully parry a Chun Li Super in a match with hundreds of people watching…
Nah man the first time around I kinda gave Daigo to much credit… I was playing to defensive, worrying about what he was going to do rather then just playing my game… The second time around I was like fuck it I 'm just going to play him like any other ryu player… get that knock down and put him in that vortex lol.

I did get some 3s on cam since someone had to rep it … if I don’t feel like they’re professional enough to save for the DVD, I’ll post them soon on YouTube but put them on the DVD probably as well after editing them. Eric Kim or someone commented that most people are obviously (and understandably) out of 3s practice since matches were a little sloppy (Daigo didn’t even want to enter and we kinda had to persuade him) but it was def enjoyable, what I did to get watch.

As far as the daigo issue is concerned i dont think its really a matter of dick riding because i definitely dont feel i dick ride anyone but i respect a lot of people. I have been actually lucky enough to get to know daigo on a more of a friendship basis since hanging out with him at evo and again this past weekend during Seasons Beatings (all thanks to Issei Suzuki). I think why people like daigo so much is because of how mild mannered and reserved he is while at this same time his play style being so dynamic and explosive in high tension situations. He is the equivalent of hitting the 3 point shot at the buzzer to win the game on game 7 of the NBA finals. There is something to be said about seeing a person that can perform consistently at the level everyone wishes they could. There are people who say daigo “Isn’t that good” or “He’s beatable” or “Overrated” really need to take a step back and look at themselves and realize all those comments should be directed at themselves and not at Daigo Umehara. No one owns daigo in the US not even justin, so US shouldnt have an opinion about his skill level. If your salty about anything i just said realize its only the truth. I would love to see you come out to the next event that daigo participates in and work your way through the brackets of 250+ people then beat his ass in front of 300+ people cheering in the background with the pressure on with the money and your reputation on the line. Oh im sorry thats right most of the people popping shit about all the top players in any country Joined at 2008 and never make it to top 16 in majors anyway.
As messed up as is sounds is very easy to make the claim that daigo is the best in US because he wins. Sure he hasnt beat “everyone” in the us, but guess what anyone that thinks they are good cant beat justin or any of our other top players so what makes you think that if you cant beat the best americans how are you going to beat one of the best japan has to offer (yes he is one of the best they have)

This is my argument right here. Dick riders dont progress the scene and try to get better…they are just admirers from afar, very uneducated about the situation/person and dabble at best in the game. Players and leaders progress the scene, not dick riders.
If someone really wanted to be as good as Daigo maybe you should take a look at what he does to get better- I mean seriously take a good look.
That means being willing to throw all your excuses (not enough money, time etc not good enough, if you wanna be the best you gotta SACRIFICE LIKE THE BEST!) out the door and GO SEEK the high level competition you need.
Otherwise you are your own worst enemy. If you say you’ll never be as good as Daigo guess what- You’re right.
If you say you are going to surpass Daigo and start mapping out how to do that guess what- Not only are you right but you’ll find ways to make it happen.

EDIT - Daigo’s human, but his clutch will forever shit on your clutch. This is coming from someone that has played him a fair amount already. It’s not easy to be clutch against Daigo. He can fuck with your rhythm pretty free if you don’t stay sharp. After playing him, my respect for him has doubled since then and I would definitely like to play him some more.

I get what you’re saying but do you get what I’m saying- it’s okay to be a fan, but I just cannot stand blind/uneducated dick riders. I encourage people to play and educate themselves, not blindly make excuses for someone if they lose or based on limited knowledge…Knowledge is power.
Also there’s a way to be a respectful competitor, I don’t encourage shit talk or any of that. People can call me an ass, but like I say man I don’t even like my own dick riders…Its flattering but at the same time I’m all about everyone getting stronger and progressing as a whole.
