actually, i think the game should be set at 2/3.
2/3 is the standard in japan. while i’m not saying that we should do everything the way things are in japan, i personally don’t see the reason to run arcana heart in 3/5 as the average rounds are usually much longer than gg or 3s (and perhaps melty blood) and don’t have bogus kills like hokuto no ken does.
we should also note that the arcana heart tournament that took place at web2zone over the weekend ran way past overtime because of this. if that was any kind of indicator, we should stick with the 2/3 format instead.

Well it wasn’t mainly the 3 out of 5 even though it’s a bit long. But I think 3 out of 5 is more consistant anyway… I think it was just other delays that held the tournament up. But it’s up to who ever is running it I guess. If it is 2 out of 3 then that’s fine too.

well, i’m not personally against the 3/5 format itself. i agree 3/5 would definitely make it more consistent, but that can be said about any other game.
the main reason games like tekken, sc and vf are set to 3/5 is because some rounds can end ridiculously fast; while hokuto no ken is usually set to 3/5 to negate the effect of fatal k.o.'s. arcana heart usually doesn’t suffer from these problems (rounds ending under 20 seconds), even in really one-sided matches as far as i can tell. if anything, the matches usually last much longer than most 1v1 2d fighters.
my main concern is the time issue. it’s the last tournament run on saturday, and we don’t even know exactly how many people will enter and how many set ups we will have for it. and although i will be staying saturday night in columbus, tourney running too late could interfere with travel plans for some people.
so i’ll leave it to the organizers as well, but i think it’s better for us to be safe than sorry.
i mean, we’re all hype for arcana right now but we could probably put the extra 1~3 hours we save by doing 2/3 rounds instead for playing casuals… which a lot of people would probably prefer than watching finals that could potenatially take as long as 45+ minutes each.
I’m new to Arcana, but I vote 2/3. 3/5 takes a LONG time.

Arcana Heart Full will be ran By Justin and will be 2/3,3/5, 4/7 format.
Also the Osu/Wisconsin game starts at 12pm NOON, which means I strongly suggest whoever is driving to show up at 10am because that parking lot is going to fill up fast! Im gonna give you a pass for your cars because they charge for parking during home games, I will be giving out passes for those who will be attending the tournament.
For people who are wanting run side tournaments, as long as we have open stations and they arent holding up official tournaments Im game. If they become a distraction we will end them.
Nagata: Everyone is welcomed to film whatever they want and post it online, all I ask is if the quality is poor save it for you your own pcs.
