I donāt think anything is formalized yet, but it looks like I am going to be running the Guitar Hero tournament(s) on Sunday the 4th of November.

Since we have all day on Sunday, I am planning something a little different, but need to gauge interest before committing to it.
I am actually wanting to run two tournaments, so please read carefully:
Tournament 1 : Guitar Hero 2 and/or Guitar Hero 3 Standard tournament
Platform : PS2
Entrance Fee : $10
Prize : 70/20/10 of entrance fees
Format : Qualifier Round for seeding (and to cut brackets down to 32 on the off chance we get more than 32 sign ups). Thereafter, itās your standard double elimination, best of 3, weighted random tiebreaker format (meaning in higher rounds, it will only randomly select a tougher song). Also please note, there is a very real chance that I will switch this over to Guitar Hero 3 instead if I can find enough PS2 copies of the game (unfortunately, all the events Xbox 360s will be tied up playing some godwaful game whose name begins with the lettter āHā )
Tournament 2 : Guitar Hero 2 Custom tournament
This one is a little different and bears some explanation. The entrance fee will also be $10 a person, but the payout will be slightly different - Right now Iām toying with the payout being 50, 20, 30 - in other words, 50% of the entrance goes to the winner, 20 goes to the second place, and 30 gets split three ways between the 3 best customs.
Basically, the idea is that the custom chart makers on scorehero create and send me a custom chart specifically for the tournament. I select the 6 custom charts which I feel are the cream of the crop (and also represent different genres and difficulties), and then all the players who signed up for the custom tournament get to play each of these six songs - the top combined score selects the winner, and after playing all 6, each contestant rates the songs (criteria still to be determined, but it will be obvious things like sync, notechart, song choice, general impression). I think this has the potential to be a hell of a lot of fun - one thing about this tournament is sign-ups are finalized before anybody plays, and no competitors are to see the charts until they get to play them.

So - I hope that a bunch of you are interested in trying this out - I now that the custom song contest is going to be a blast, as I have already received a few submissions from some of the best custom chart makers out there, so Iām hoping that some of the better Guitar Hero players on here will be interested in trying that out as well (basically, if you canāt beat the game on Expert, the customs will kick your ass :))

Fugee; the GTASF roster has been updated again (check a page back). Weāre up to 22 players and likely to add only one more (not sure yet). I know I keep saying āthatās the final numberā but they just keep coming. Weāre almost out of players now.

Bill; how about this. How about we run you/Potter vs Gerjay/Jiggabry in 3S. Theyāre both OK 3S players but not insane like some of the other 3S guys that are here specific for it. Iād like to think thatās a fair bet. 2/3 team format for $10 a head?
