As a birdie player who has played him since the launch:
Slide
Chain lp or mk or EX
revenger after you get the timing down for his fireballs
Forward heavy punch has after the third frame of startup 1 hit of armor so there’s that.
and learn to block
Normal bullhorn and ex bullhorn goes through fireballs
In v-trigger all bullheads gain armor after the 4th frame of activation.
No excuses for this sad novice/scrub birdie player. Hit training mode and deal with the fireballs.
Dude has a point. He’s saying that “Is it fun?” should a more important question than “Is it fair?”. If we wanted perfect balance, we could just turn all fighting games into Fox v Fox on Final Destination with no items. In trying to be “competitive”, people drastically over think and over analyze their games. He’s not even complaining about balance itself, just that Esports communities can’t see the forest for the trees.
Problem i had with the sf4 series is that instead of everybody being their most buffed version a whole lot of characters got nerfed (ryu, sagat) and some got good buffs ( ken and makoto) some didnt even get decent buffs like Deejay.
All the damage getting reduced to nothing didn’t help either.
to much balance to even everybody out but not make them different is not good enough.
Overnerfing =/= Balance.
Just because Capcom only knows how to “balance” by nerfing it doesn’t mean that other companies do, neither that Balance = Nerf
Does the EventScrubs tier list count as a collective scrubquote for the entire community? Keep in mind this is the better version. Bison used to be fucking third.
" I hate the fact that this game disregards footsies, it’s more beneficial to do random jump ins in a row so you can get random 300+ dmg then actually playing a well spaced out street fighter game"
" Also that things like “Reads” are great guessing games that don’t measure skill but reward people for their guessing games"
"So dope that i can actually “React to stuff in sf4, sf2 and sf alpha but in this game i cant block crossups correctly or anti air correctly because i need to see clearly in the future or eat a 300+ jumpin combo”
I get the idea of a community generated tier list in theory. It’s a nice idea of the community collectively deciding which characters are best. Except that 98% of the community aren’t high level players, and therefore don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. If you asked me to vote, I wouldn’t know where to begin. The only thing I could tell you is that FANG/Cammy feels like it’s really heavily weighed in Cammy’s favor, but I also suck so maybe I’m missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.
You heard it on EventScrubs first, people. In 2006, very few players could perform super cancels and almost nobody could special cancel in 1996. I guess all those 3rd Strike matches I saw never happened. And Garou and Guilty Gear having cancel mechanics as part of their systems is some sort of secret.
So much gold on the comments section of this post:
And nobody answered Harada, how much input lag games on the 90s had? Nobody knows, because nobody cared… we just played the games, just like 99% of the SFV players were doing before somebody else cried “EIGHT FUCKING FRAMES!!!” and now it’s the most important thing for theory fighters and keyboard warriors.
What the fuck does Harada know? Does he even read up on the frame data online? I mean, what the fuck has he ever done? I uploaded a SFIV Sagat tutorial on YouTube that has 4800 views!
