I flag when I mean it, you flagged like what 30 random shit at once to feel better about yourself like a 12 year old would? Not just me, you also flagged the shit out of Volcanic who disagreed with you on the same post I did.
If mods want to do their job, you’d already be banned and save the other members IQ from dropping every time they read one of your posts.
what do you mean by "save the other members IQ from dropping everytime they read one of my posts " ? i don’t get it.
whats wrong with opinion?
even if my ideas were flawed, you should flag em’ disagree not troll.
Quite the mob mentality here on sorrowstick. You’re pushing him further into belligerence with your insults, even when his posture is one of apologetic defiance. This is unnecessary. And this does not move the discussion further. Let it go. Both sides.
If this is a “mob mentality” well shit, I’d hate to see how people reacted back when we had Rep. Even in the few years I’ve been here this place has gone way softer than it was.
He’s not attempting to troll at all. What I see is a guy who overstepped his tone and has been defensively dealing with the backlash since then. What do you expect, someone to back up and get lashed in public persistently? There is an apologetic tone to his most recent posts but you won’t drop it. It’s self-righteous and it’s idiotic. This is a forum about videogames, chill the fuck out.
So if you flag him once for him being a troll and he flags back with 30 (not just me BTW, check Volcanic’s stats), doesn’t that just confirm that he IS a troll and acts like a child? There’s nothing “apologetic” about it, that’s just being an asshole actually.
What I learned from this forum is that you can get flagged or get dislikes, because of the most ridiculous reasons, I myself also witnessed this, but the best thing to ignore and stand above it.
I get flagged with shit all the time and don’t care, but when someone purposely takes the time and flags a ton of your posts (30+)whether old or new at once because you happened to disagree with him at something to cause that rage mode, then I don’t see the harm in telling the world how sad that individual really is.
I bet some people got a good laugh at it, so why don’t you join 'em instead of whining yourself?
Actually I think it has less to do with the disagreement and more to do with the the escalation of the situation, which required two sides. You became more and more of a douche to the guy, and unlike him who clearly had an apologetic tone, you just kept upping the ante.
In fact, the kid gave his opinion on Akuma and received a rude and acid reaction from a few members, which escalated into derision as he sought to defend his point. He might have been wrong, and might not be very knowledgeable, but that does not make him a troll.
You can’t hate on people for their ignorance, and you can’t give them shit for not knowing what they’re talking about when they’re discussing in good faith, as long as they’re open to learn, which guess what, he was. 6 of his last posts had some sort of apology or peace offering in them.
Look at the guy’s last 3 posts, they were apologetic, until he left. This is likely what he didn’t want to begin with. You on the other hand seem to love every second of that sorry exchange. Which is why I’m leaving this one it as it is.
Yes, it’s a forum about videogames. I do not think that trivializes elements such as a complete lack of conduct, perspective or mentality. I honestly find it slightly disconcerting that some people instantly try to trivialize attitudes and behaviors like this because the ‘context.’
This could be a Pokémon & Powerpuff Girls forum, and that still wouldn’t make the points any less relevant or applicable, so the videogame argument is pointless because mentioning it doesn’t actually change anything.
I also find it somewhat vexing when people stupidly and thoughtlessly throw out the “taking the internet too seriously”-argument. Firstly, it’s a childish argument, which can be demonstrated by the simple fact that you can use it in every circumstance and topic (anything you care about enough to debate? Okay, you’re taking it too seriously – according to me!), since it’s the argument-creator that apparently seems to decide what is and isn’t worthy of being serious.
Should a logical point not be just as important regardless of whether they are discussing engineering, architecture or yatzy? What a weird view of reality you have if you don’t care about truth, only truth in contexts you care about. The latter of which would also be hypocritical.
Point is, a discussion is a discussion. I do not see how it is your place to tell someone that they’re taking it too seriously simply because you think so. You are the one who is out of line, even more so for doing this in such a condescending and patronizing manner while attempting to maintain moral high ground. In honesty, people like you are at least as big of a problem as people like sorrowstick simply because you constantly spread misinformation and don’t even seem to care.
To demonstrate this, I’ll reference our previous correspondence, your input in this thread, and your input in the “How much PP is required to be a good player?”-thread. You are, again, in this threads, talking about something you seriously do not understand as if you are a leading expert. You do it so adamantly and confidently that it baffles me how you can be that way while saying half the stuff you do. I demonstrated in my previous paragraphs why you were uneducated in this topic (as I explained to you why, logically, you have no place to make the comments you actually made.)
In the PP thread, you made the statement “And there are no shit players with 4000+, that is an impossibility” along with the statement “That nonsense again. Online with a good connection is quite similar to offline. Online with a good connection allows for 1f links and mixup defense too. It’s not like indoor and outdoor soccer, it’s the same game. Though it is easier to gain PPs with safer gimmicky characters as I’ve already mentioned in this thread, 3-4k PP is a measure of considerable skill in this game.”
Online is riddled with variables that, again, make it very, very tough to make blanket statements like “no shit player with 4000+.” I’m sure you’re familiar with the “no gold in China” analogy, and that’s what you’re doing right here. Seriously, dude, I don’t get where your confidence comes from?! Almost everything you say is wrong, and yet you keep taking moral high grounds and acting as if you are some expert in every thread.
I don’t want to put anyone on blast, but people SERIOUSLY need to learn how to educate themselves about things before they open their mouth.
EDIT: Allow me to elaborate. I think people like you might be more detrimental than people like sorrowstick because when half the stuff in your arguments is simply wrong or just an untruth, then all you’re doing in a debate is forcing people to point out which parts of your statements were incorrect. It’s littered with misinformation and untruths, and you don’t even seem to mind making this statements half-heartedly. It’s like you haven’t even reflected on your own words.
Please, the blanket statement is that PPs mean nothing, what I do is counter that ridiculous assertion by stating that 4000PP requires consistency against those with equal win percentages, in fact, points are skewed downards since the incidence of good players with few PPs is higher than that of bad players with high PPs.
As for the idea that someone could have 4000PPs and be a piece of shit player, it is laughable. Only if piece of shit means “not top 200 at EVO” to you or some other ridiculous standard.
As for the discussion, I made my point above, read it if you want. Have a nice day.
