Scrub Friendly Characters

ye pros  typo

If the opponent does a LP Rekka, one of his main pressure tools that has advantage on block, then you get a free Alpha Counter, and if you’re willing to spend a bar of meter then you can tag cancel the Alpha Counter into a full juggle combo. And if you’re a character like Jin, whose Alpha counter is the EWGF, if your Alpha Counter is baited and blocked, you’re still safe.

I feel ACs are really good and are balanced by 1.) costing a meter and 2.) some characters having lack luster or unsafe ACs (for example, while Jin’s AC is really good at countering stuff on the ground, if you do it on a jump in it ussually goes behind them and you get punished. And Ken’s is an EX DP. )

i got the brady guide, so if anyone needs something from that u can always post me on this thread btw

I don’t get all this Rolento being easy talk, I barely ever see him online and when I do I kick his ass easily.

Is the combo in lils trial 17 any good ? super easy but crazy dmg

Not really.

For three meters? Not really that special. You can do around 45% meterless just with EWGF, but I dare say that’s the hardest move to master in this game.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I’m starting to think he will be up there execution wise ala Tekken. I’m starting to realize more and more that he NEEDS Mist Step and EWGF to actually fare in high level because it won’t be too long when people figure out all his other tools.

I play Rolento/Jin team, and I feel that Rolento is easy (half the reason I picked him, to make up for my lousy Jin whilst I learn him), his sweep is really fast, and probably (not done too much experimenting with it) moves Rolento across the screen faster than his lousy walk/ dash. His C.MK is also mad, its super easy to get his rekkas going after it lands.

Also, the shotos (especially Akuma) are really easy and powerful.

Good rolentos i have played online have baited my alpha counter a few times with staggered block strings.
And sure alpha counters can get him off of you, but what is to say that you can get in on him after?

and this is the reason i gave up playing kazuya, lol. people think he’s some scrub friendly cheap easy damage character, when in fact he’s one of the higher execution characters in the game. a lot of his stuff is totally predictable once you’ve seen it a couple of times (not to mention a lot of it is unsafe on block), so he needs those god fist combos you mention…and they aren’t exactly easy.

I haven’t tried ALL the characters yet but I can say that Asuka, Law, Paul are characters that are easy to get into IF you’ve played Tekken, and i dunno why Jin so much different than his Tekken iteration that I can’t, for the love of God, play him as well as I did in T6, Julia, on the other hand could, be the mother of Yun and Yang since most of her moves ARE SO MUCH LIKE THEM!!! Other than that, if you’ve come from SFIV, everyone of the cast from there should feel the same and shouldn’t feel too different plus some new stuff they added.

Newcomers, at least for now should learn the system with Ryu or Ken and then move on to characters that interest them as with other games since they are there to be used as a guide to the game. Once you have it down, move on to the trials, see which suits you the best.

Balrog. He was easy in SF4, he’s just as easy in SF x Tekken as far as I know

After playing a bunch of rounds, Zangief is a good answer here. Probably scrub friendly and to an extent quite broken (in the early early day 1 meta), probably will get forward roll removed at some point along with the other grapplers due to complaints. Enjoy getting free wins against Tekken characters now while you can haha.

you can option select alpha counters.

F+LK~HP+HK gets you an alpha counter if the timing is right, an LK if the timing is wrong.

sorry.

if you meant baiting as in using a move that is safe against them, gl with that, akuma’s alpha counter is 4 frames

Actually, that option select would end up giving you a preset combo on whiff more often than not. Rather risky, IMO.

you’re doing it too quickly!

you can use MP/MK if you really insist on doing it with plink timing.

I hate to say it because I love her to death. But Juri has become SO much easier to play its kind of crazy. If you can reliably do quarter circle motions you can play her now. She has what might be the best jump in attack in the entire game with her j.hp. Which easily links into c.HP into whatever you want. Midscreen your options are limited but you can just do a simple qcb+k for easy 30% combos on your opponent. Want to upgrade that damage and have meter? do the medium kick version and then follow up with your ult.

Now maybe its because I played Juri in sf4. And so now with how much better she is and how much easier she is I am just thinking she is easy. No one else has mentioned her so that might be it. But I really do think just about anyone could play her now.

i did play some juri in sf, in fact she was the first character that i played, for some reason, iam no fan of negative edge like storage of fireballs, which is to bad since i love how the character looks and moves

Kazuya with an easy input gem. Holy fuck…

Rufus is the definition of braindead in this game. Pick him Rufus, don’t put any thought into your gameplan, just do stuff and you’ll be fine.

This is bullshit yes he has some easy combo’s, but his real good shit is probably one of the highest execution characters this game has. Lets forget about that easy input gem anyway, assist gems should be banned anyway
