Scrub Friendly Characters

True, but if the mechanic is in the game and nobody is making any use of it. Then of course rolento would be dominant over players that don’t utilize it. Same goes for any character with some sort of multi hit rekka or good block strings. If players truely wanted to get into the game then it would be smart of them to do a little bit of research and study and learn about the new mechanics. Seeing as OP said he had 4000 BP in SF4. Which I don’t think he was gloating over but he was trying to say that he isn’t inexperienced in anyway.

Also you can bait alpha counters. Which change into launchers. Which are really, really unsafe.

its true that the lab is far from everthing, but seeing people doing 500bnb on me evey round online and i cant get consictent with my bnbs, iam losing 24/7
i dont know if its because iam living in tokyo that the skill level is crazy or if i just suck balls,
havent meet anyone without atleast 400bnbs killing me every game

Thats a lie.

Yeah consider switching the region setting from same to any so you can at least fight some non Japanese players. Lol.

I would kill to live in tokyo. I’d hit up the Arcades every day and fight some experienced Japanese players. The only way you gain more experience is for you to lose to experienced players.

yeah well, learn your own 400 bnb’s first, but that should take a day or two, then go play. if your characters can’t easily do 400 damage, then you’re either using rolento, or using a bad character

Well it’s the combination really. He’s really boring compared to Alpha 2 and I don’t see him totally being the best simply because his movement speed along the ground is too slow in these new SF games with the huge stages. The only reason you wouldn’t have a problem with his walk speed is due to the range on his normals but fast walk speed is always going to be paramount for strong characters in SF type games.

He is definitely someone I would recommend no issue to someone who just wants somebody that works out of the box. Disjointed normals, strong mix ups, easy hit confirms and punishes into solid damage without tagging etc. Especially now that this game is less reversal heavy and block strings actually matter again.

i think Nina is a pretty good easy female character

her df+LK,LK,LK,MK is VERY easy to hit-confirm, and you can cancel it with a regular special move into a big combo

so what you do is just keep poking at them with df+LK,LK repeatedly until it hits, then finish the string into her geyser cannon. from there you can juggle them with whatever. practicing these combos will also help you learn the juggle system very quickly.

if they have you locked down, EX geyser cannon is a good reversal

if they jump a lot, cr.HP is an ok anti-air, but you gotta get right under them

kay. Go to the lab and do this:

j.Hp>St.Hp xx Lp Slaughter Hook>Cr.Hp xx EX (Lp& Mp) Slaughter Hook>Cr.Hp xx Super Art gaurentee’d half health with some of the easiest juggles in the game

Japan is like a Hyperbolic Time Chamber. If you go live in Japan for 2 years and play fighting games every day just only a few hours a day. That’s equivalent to like 4 years of experience if you play in the U.S

The scene is different there. Everyone is interested in the same things and everyone excels at each game. If you fight experienced players, you will become an experienced player like yourself. If you can speak Japanese then ask other japanese players questions, strategies and ect.

I hang in the arcade pretty much ever weekend, leveling up my sakura card =) tobad theres no SfxT arcade :frowning:

Well I really don’t walk at all. I use his all three punches roll, which is safe and use it to get in. He does get getting used to if you give him to a new player though. Ryu should be recommended to all new players.

ive been living here for 4 years, and i do speak Japanese, however ive only played Fighting games for 6 months, its a new found passion of my =)

Well a scrub doesn’t really need Ryu. Scrub isn’t new to the game he just knows he isn’t gdlk and just wants something that works without too much effort (at least this early in the game).

Which characters like some of the shotos and Rolento easily fit into.

Socialize with other Japanese players. You’re lucky you’re in Japan. You’ll get a lot more experience playing with other Japanese players.

rufus/ryu is probably the best team for a scrub player, but maybe not the best for a new player looking to learn footsies, because rufus gets to ignore those 90% of the time…

Rolento gets blown up by Alpha Counter though.
His pogo stuff is also akin to Vega wall dive in the gimmicks department.

Maybe he gets blown up by it early now, but unless the alpha counters are as good as they were in Alpha 2 (and even then you could bait them) I don’t see how you can’t get around alpha counters with him or most of the other cast. He definitely seems like the character that if anything could just bait the shit out of AC’s.

ill start reading up on your lili guide, and we shall see where it leads me,
when i saw the CON = good anti air i got kinda excited ~~

You mean PRO?
