Screwed up learning a combo!

Howdy,
After not trying to play KOF XIII for years, I’ve somehow come back to it and want to actually learn the game this time.

My problem is I just couldn’t seem to get the hang of one of Kim’s simple bnb combos, d.Bx2/3, st.B, ff+A, (air) qcb+B

I couldn’t figure out why 9/10 I was getting it wrong, turned on inputs and realised something: I’d learned it where I hit bf+A instead of ff+A! (back forward A instead of forward forward A).

I’m now in this bad position where my muscle memory is completely wrong, pretty much I’ve practically mastered this combo except that I mastered a wrong input so I drop the combo like every time.

Any tips on rebuilding muscle memory from the ground up, at least in regards to a combo?

You do the combo with the right input.

For sure, but somehow I have committed the wrong inputs to muscle memory, making me do it wrong nearly every time. It’s like whenever I try the full combo, I do it this wrong way without thinking. The whole reason I asked a question about it was that I thought someone might have an idea of how to “unlearn” something committed to muscle memory, so that you can learn how to do it the right way.

There’s really no trick to it. Practice the proper inputs in training mode, and, more importantly, in actual matches until it becomes 2nd nature.
