If you’re from Scotland and looking for a real life fighting game community to hang with, Microplay Gaming in Glasgow have been holding weekly Fight Clubs for the past two months!

We play pretty much anything that’s going - there are 360s running SFIV and SCIV, a Wii with TvC and Smash Bros, plus plenty of PCs with 2DFighter and a broad selection of other games, like 3rd Strike, KOF98 and Marvel vs Capcom. There are usually tournaments during the night too, with prizes to be won.

Any out there interested? Newcomers are always welcome, and there are plenty of people to fight. You can join the Microplay Forums too, if you want to speak to other people in the community.

Hmm…I’m not in Glasgow, but this is the only time I’ve seen any kind of organised event for SFIV anywhere in Scotland. Next time I’m in town I might have to stick around and check it out. Even though I don’t plan to be in Glasgow until August…

It’ll still be running in August, no worries. If anything it’ll be even more popular in the wake of KOFXII, MVC2, BlazBlue and Tekken 6.

Tonight will be an MVC2 tournament! Be there or be a four-sided shape of equal sides.

Fight night this week was pretty awesome, some new blood this time from SRK joining in the SFIITurbo/SF3:3S tourneys! With some grudge matches on the side!

Next week will most likely be an SF4 tourney so hope some of you guys can make it over!!

BAD NEWS, no Fight Club this week. Microplay has to close early tomorrow.

Normal service is resumed next Thursday, though! Look on the bright side, at least this gives us all more time to practice.

Just to let you know if anyone still wants to come tonight, come round at 4pm instead of 7. at least then we can get some play time until 8pm.

Q is a badass. If you learn how to play him as well as your Viper then I’ve got the fear!

loool my Viper is mad scrubby; I used to be OK with her but you need to keep your eye in or your execution slips a lot. : (

Q is definitely badass and a lot slower than I’m used to but his taunt is too sick! :smiley:

oh well, i guess that was an anti-climax.

the venue we hold this at, microplay gaming, is actually closing down this week.

so no more Fight Club until we can sort something else…
