You should buy it.
its cheap on amazon
The game is pretty fun although it is really short. I beat the game with Scott and now playing with Knives. Knives sucks ass IMO. Who’s top tier in this?
Despite being a redone Kim sprite I think Knives is awesome. Her tech 2 I think (where she throws daggers in the air) Is probably one of the best in the game if not the best. It’s so easy to clear a stage without getting hit by spamming it alone.
I haven’t unlocked her second tech yet. I’m on stage 4 with her right now and at level 8. Maybe she gets better as she levels up. Even if Knives is a redone Kim sprite is Kim at least different? I was planning on playing as her next but I think I might go to Steven.
Tiers are hella compressed in this game. Only thing agreed on generally is that Stills is the worst while Scott and Ramona are hanging out at the top but even then the gap between them isn’t very noticable. Scott and Ramona both just have very good high utility techs. And they both have an unblockable as well.
I see.
By the way is the guy who announces the KO on boss fights the alpha 3 guy? Holy shit that’s awesome if it’s true.
I think I heard Seth mention that. Also noticed another SF reference the flame damage animation looks a lot like the one in SF2.
Lynette also reminds me of Dhalsim with her stretching arms and teleporting.
The only flaw in this game is the last stage. It really fucking sucks. I hate the elevator and all the fights with Gideon. My favorite stage was probably stage 4.
Haha, there’s unblockables in this game? News to me. Shame to hear Stills is the worst as he was my favorite character to use before Knives.
Beat the game with 1 character that has tons of money. Start a new game with a new character and beat the first level. Save, and restart the game. Go to the character selection screen and have player 1 be your new character, player 2 is your completed character with money. Start the game half way through the first level near the stores, get into a store and have player 2 donate all money to player 1. Go to the map, save, go to the main menu.
Player 1 now has all the money, and player 2 still does too! Do this 3-4 times and buy everything!
Buy all the expensive food, books, DVD’s (after paying scott’s late fees) and power ups from wallace’s secret shop. Within 15 minutes you can have 100% all stats and 9 lives. I did this after I beat the game with everyone, but to level them up and max out their stats.
Bump.
I think the KO voice is from SFA3, just listened to both of them are they’re nearly identical. I’m sure the devs got permission to use the sounds, after all they used sounds from mario, SF games, megaman games, and many others.
all of scott’s specials are makoto tributes.
it is from sfa3.
I remembered that for sure when i saw it. Can’t forget my favorite SF
I recently saw this movie, and I fucking loved it. I really feel like this was a movie that was made solely for people like me who were kids during the NES era. It’s the only movie I’ve ever seen that practically reveled in 8-bit nostalgia. It’s a wholy unique movie that’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
ever read the comics…you might enjoy them alot too. it emphasizes alot more on the silly universe where you just accept the fact their are save points in the middle of the room for no reason.
I have the comics. I’m actually going to read them because of this movie. I knew going into the movie that I was going to get a super compressed version of the story, and I knew I’d eventually go to the comics to flesh that out.
I’m still really amazed by that movie. It’s the ONLY movie I’ve ever seen that requires you to have a “video game vernacular”, so to speak. I could totally see older folks just walking out on this film, and people our age really enjoying it. It really is an incredibly inspired and unique film.
edit I can imagine this film probably didn’t do that well at the box office. What a shame. The same thing that makes it remarkable is the same thing that doesn’t make it marketable.
i really think it only didnt do well because people really had no idea wtf they were walking into. the ads tried to explain it as a weird love story…but it was so much more. they really didnt advertise any of the gaming aspects except the street fighter alpha ko sound…and only people like us even recognized it.
They had the extra life to. Where he says “getting a life” snatch
I’ll agree the movie was t exactly marketed right but I can’t really see how you can market this movie right to begin with. There’s too many injokes related to an entire subculture, it’s just too much to explain in a 30 second ad.
