I still have yet to play the damn game and it’s killing me that two of my cousins have 360s and NO INTERNET! I know fatherbrain has it but that doesn’t do me any good now that I’m in NC!
Anyway, I know what you mean crimsonARIA. Scott and co. joining Patel’s musical number, then deflecting his fireballs with a force field powered by friendship would have been just plain silly on the big screen. Although, if Edgar Wright was able to make two movies, he would have had the chance to deliver an adaptation that’s much more faithful, since he’d have more time and more material to work with. Unfortunately, considering how badly the film we got flopped (despite being far from a bad movie), making TWO movies would have been a financial disaster.
why is the scott pilgrim game so good? I just downloaded it and it’s like RCR with flashes of A3 (literally). In fact, the only reason i downloaded it was the fact that when i saw the preview in the movies, it had the A3 announcer. The ONLY thing missing is online, but other than that the game is crazy fun.
Let’s see who can name the most game references in this. I’ll start
Still’s jumping light attack = Dudley’s J Med
Still’s grappling brusier = Balrog’s Head Bomber
Scott’s Special = Ryu’s Tatsu
Character Select screen = Mario Bros. 2 select screen
World Map = Super Mario Bros. 3 & World
End Stage Win Victories = Final Fantasy
Still’s Victory Exit = Mario Bros. pipes
Kim’s Victory Exit = Kirby Superstar stage transition
Gameplay = Old School Beat em UPs
Last Stage robot turrets = X-Men arcade
Clash at Demon Head Girl (Goth one) = Dhalsim
NegaScott = Dark Link/Dark Samus
NegaScott’s Stage = Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Coin Blocks and Bricks = Super Mario Bros.
Sim? Hmm. I had been thinking Bionic Commando, but it could be either. Likewise for the robot stage. Seemed like a mash-up of Mega Man, X-Men and the TMNT Technodrome stages.
Just got my copy (Along with Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead). Theres so many hidden gags and treats in the movie. I can watch this over and over again, and not get tired of it. It’s still exciting to watch.
I got mine in the mail yesterday, Christmas decided to come a bit early this year. I’ve already watched it twice since getting it and I watched it again with the commentary of director Edgar Wright, Michael Bacall, and Bryan Lee O’Malley. I’ll watch it some more regularly before I check out the other commentaries. I wish they had put the animated short from Adult Swim on the DVD, at least.
The battle against the twins always gets me pumped up.
