The situation is very different, Scotland is richer than the UK while Quebec is very poor compared to the rest of Canada. For that, I think that Scotland’s independance is more legitimate. Until Quebec prove that they can be better, they should take the money of Ottawa and shut the hell up.
This is the kinda stuff that makes me proud to be Scottish

Basically 300 years ago Scotland went broke and was effectively sold to England by the nobles. We’ve enjoyed one of the greatest political unions ever, but in the past 50 years we’ve seen Scottish resources squandered and unjust decisions made by a government we didn’t elect that we can’t challenge.

I live in the north of england and I can completely see why a lot of Scots want to be independent. From what I’ve heard it seems roughly 50/50 in Scotland but I’m getting a feeling that the yes campaign will win out.
Now, why is Scotland leaving?
The British Parliament is fucking diabolical. The coalition is nothing but a bunch of eton old boys catering for everyone in Slough and below. They don’t give a fuck about North England or Scotland (Not to mention Scotland more or less has is given absolutely no say in anything. ever.), they look after London and it’s immediate surroundings and bollocks to the rest. The North has been shafted time and time again, the big kicker was that they’re spending **billions **on that new railway just so you can get to London faster
Britain at it’s core is getting worse and it’s not because of immigration or whatever else the ignorant masses spout. It’s the Government failing to deliver or repair anything. Everything is blamed on the defecit buzzword and people are sick of it, Scotland is in the fortunate position of being able to get the fuck out of this and build themselves up on their own. Every country thats left the UK has done perfectly fine and I don’t see why Scotland would be any different.
It’ll be sad seeing Scotland go, but that’s only because I’d be jealous. Best of luck to them and I personally hope they become independent.
Edit: I live in Middlesbrough to be exact, when you think of the North East you’d usually think of Newcastle, and even a pretty big city like that is largely ignored. God damn let Northern England be it’s own country. Like, holy shit. When I go down to London they don’t do anything!
Where I live you can talk with strangers at bus stops and nobody thinks your a loon, you have a Greggs on every corner, a pint that costs anything closy to £3 is a rip off and worst of all? They don’t even make proper gravy. It’s a fucking disgrace.

The ‘Yes’ camp should really thank the ‘No’ camp for having one of the worst, most terribly run political campaigns I’ve ever seen.
Seriously, consider how major of an issue it is, it’s like the people who designed the ‘No’ campaign were secret moles for the Yes group trying to sway voters.
That ad featuring the Scottish woman talking about how the decision was too complicated for her to understand made me fucking want to break out the kilt and facepaint to go kick some Englishmen…and I’m not even Scottish.
