Ebola could send the economies of West Africa spiraling into depression - http://www.vox.com/xpress/2014/10/16/6986053/ebola-economy-poverty

This is just a clusterfuck

Classic writing tactics for news articles. It’s a common tactic to use vague words/phrasing when referring to people of authority to install confidence to the read that they, the author of the article/media outlet, know what the fuck they’re reporting about. People need to be more aware of this and take articles with a grain of salt.

CDC throws nurse under bus talkin she did not follow protocol by boarding plane to c-land, then it comes out that nurse directly consulted CDC before going and they approved.
CDC want our trust
Hahaa
nice job
Despite govt, I still think US got this one.

Iont wanna get this

When the media says there may be more infected, don’t worry. We already knew that. When they say there’s nothing to worry about: worry like a mofo, make plans and start discretely stocking up. Remember, according to the government, anyone with more than one week of food is to be considered a possible terrorist.

The cdc and goverment dont want to send us into a state of panic. The meadia is twisting everything around,in cause inducing panic.

Like i been saying, just be extra cautios and do your research. Id like to believe what they say about the spread of this disease. One to many cases are starting to pop for me to believe what they say. Hopefully they do contain this shit before it goes into defcom4 levels haha.

Do health plans cover Ebola? Who is paying for that treatment?

Do I need extra Ebola coverage?

The funny thing to me is that the image/video of Clipboard Man™ perfectly sums up the stupidity of this fucking country in the modern era… completely oblivious to what should be OBVIOUS, common-sense shit… everyone else in the area has the special protective suit on to deal with things…everyone…EXCEPT YOU.…and this dope is seemingly ok with that situation…and licks his fingers from what I’m reading?! You cannot possibly be goddamn serious with this “special-ed short bus” shit. It sums it up this country perfectly like a brilliantly written and illustrated 1-panel comic/strip in a Sunday newspaper. Unfuckinbelievable, man…

My health insurance in NY is more expensive than people’s salary in other states, that shit better cover Ebola. If it doesn’t, I will walk in and cough on all of them.

Still pissed off people like that dumbass orochizoolander saying it was a good idea to bring that dude with Ebola to the US. No one with Ebola should be allowed into the US. No one with Ebola should be walking around in public having contact with others.

Most of us that aren’t retarded like orochizoolander were saying it day 1. At least the government is catching up but they won’t really do shit until rich people start getting Ebola.

If we didnt bring Kent Bradley to the US we wouldnt have antibodies to give to people when Ebola-fugees like Duncan inevitably come over and infect us. So bringing in and treating straightup brave heroes like Kent Bradley has directly saved countless lives and helped to contain the spread of Ebola in the US. It is the people who oppose trying to treat patients in the US that are the ones sticking their heads in the sand. Pushing off the inevitable, usually helps to build a critcal mass which can overpower whatever barriers you have erected and bring catastrophe. This is true in many arenas.
Stop calling people names duke.

Just letting people be treated in African nations will just mean that we’ll never be prepared to treat people who contract it in Western countries, because we’d never have a Western experience with the virus to be able to use it for antibodies or other research.

yeah its just fear mongering by the media. click bait. the us has better treatment facilities and they already cured a few ppl of ebola. this is all gonna blow over.

worst case scenario, which is a best case scenario, a bunch of people die off, which means more resources for the rest of us. less demand = cheaper real estate, cheaper gas, more jobs with more benefits, etc etc. the minimum wage debate will become irrelevant because mcdonalds will have to pay a living wage to everyone left

Why wouldn’t we have antibodies? He isn’t the only person on the planet and there are other places than the US to do this.

If the US wouldn’t have brought people with Ebola over here in the first place we wouldn’t even be in this mess.

If the US is so broke maybe they shouldn’t have given Syria over 30 million dollars which went to ISIS and terrorists and instead create a medical facility in Africa.

Nobody was cured. You can’t “cure” Ebola. You get lucky and survive it’s symptoms after it’s run it’s course though your body.

How would we have had antibodies otherwise? Who else got antiboies prepped for treatment? Africa? Spain? Hahaa.
The people treated with Brantley’s serum, and anyone coming aftewards, would have dies straightup.

http://www.itv.com/news/update/2014-10-17/ebola-stricken-nurse-records-video-from-hospital-bed/ aw

you use a drug or treatment that produces the correct antibodies. your immune system kills it. the virus is cured. the end. the one i was thinking of zmap was already successfully used on at least one of the patients who was flown back to the us

edit: TKM-EBOLA looks pretty sick as well. It produces siRNA which basically shut down the protein translation process (coding from RNA to amino acids to form a protein) of a key protein in ebola.

Yup so lots of ways to cure ebola, the problem is drug companies dont really have monetary incentive to actually take these ebola drugs to market these past few years because it wasn’t a money maker. really the only thing this points out is that healthcare as a for profit is a badly flawed model and needs to be revisited.
