Evo is doing 70/20/10, That STL tournament is 80/15/5 (!), New Orleans is 65/20/10 which is only 95% but whatever, the point is that 2nd-place gets the shaft normally now, not just because of SBO.
Dream or DSP, was I close with the Smash rules or are we looking at doing something different? With as many ways as a tourney can be run in that game I think the rules need to be set forth so everyone knows.
Ravener, it’s the rules that SRK decides, I have no control over them. Whatever they have announced for EVO we will use. This was already stated in the thread awhile ago.
About ST, I was just informed that the speed for the qualifier does not have to be predetermined. Therefore if people want to play on Speed 1 or 3, it can be decided on coin-flip if the players can not agree.

DreamTR, I’m surprised that nobody else has mentioned this yet but the scheduling on the front page looks absolutely terrible. Double elimination 3rd Strike starting at 7 with SBO qualifiers afterwards? That means SBO Qualifiers are going to start at 1:00 or 2:00AM and finish at 5:00AM. How can you expect people to be playing their best in the middle of the night?
The 7:00 tournaments should be started at 3:00 or 4:00PM and then if we’re lucky, they could finish around 9:00PM and SBO qualifiers could be done at midnight.
I’ll push up the 3s tournament. We have 3 cabinets, and usually Fridays are not a big deal anyway…
I have to agree, I think 3s singles at 3-4, SBO right after, and then the random games tournament would be a much better idea. that will make sure that 3s gets done in a timely manner. no reason for the random tourney to push back the important stuff.
also, it will give me time to get smashed so I can win again this year 
Random tourney has to be earlier…just because we have to do SBO and 3s both in the evening. Earliest I can push 3s back to is 5pm, which means with 3 cabinets all in same area, we should get it done by 830-9pm, and then start on SBO with 3 cabinets.
Thank you. Finishing 3S singles by 9PM is still VERY optimistic but this way is definitely better than starting at 7PM.
With all the DQs we’ll be handing out from people not at their machines, should be pretty easy to be done by 9pm =)
nothing takes precedence over mystery tourney. that is the main event.

More people will play in the mystery tournament during/after a hype event than before it. As is, plenty of people are probably driving during the day on Friday and won’t show up until 3s starts. Last year it was good because people were already there when it started, because it was late…plus people will want to be awake/not tired for 3s since it is serious, while for a mystery tournament you can pretty much be out of your mind and take it. Just see last year’s results
