dream: i think he meant with QD’s, is that he would re arrange his button wiring layout on his stick to match what the converter was, not physically disconnect the wiring from the arcade controls and plug it into his stick(that would be a fucking nightmare and just dumb if people asked for that), which i would totally refuse to do! LOL!

omg, yes i remember the cabinet situations at b4/b5. and everyone adjusted and the best players still won…

Sabre: Yeah, that’s what I figured. Super Gun = easy with the converter, nightmare with the cabinet.

B4/B5, good 'ol days! I remember staying home that weekend (the biggest CVS1 tournament in the US) and playing CVS2 with KP, LOL.

Riot.EXE: I completely agree with you on all this. So many people just are “expected” to be able to use their custom sticks for arcade stuff or preferential treatment for them to be able to play to their maximum ability.

If this was the case, we should be playing on Arcade so the Japanese players can play at their best in every game at EVO instead of this stigma that we have caught up to them on certain games because we force them to play on our console when they come here.

Realize this, when they come here, they KNOW they are playing on console. Just like when you come to MWC, you KNOW you are playing on whatever arcade thing we throw at you.

Most of the people requesting to use their sticks have only been around the scene in the last 4 years or so, and we’ve had to be used to whatever stuff was at arcades for 13 years until EVO became console.

Anyone remember the stick/button setup at B4 (EVO 2001) in Sacramento? Wow. We made due with what we had, though. Simple as that.

Glad you agree…I guess those guys aren’t old school enough? I dunno…for me growing up playing fighters back in Houston, it was as simple as this: If the stick responded to whatever I told it to do, and all my buttons worked, that’s all that mattered. All this complaining just reeks of “diva” to me…

So for the console tourneys like cvs2, we should bring our own sticks, or will there be ones provided for the sake of convenience?

It’s byo stuff son. I wish someone would provide a stick for me though, that would be bad ass. I thought CVS2 was gonna be arcade? ( goes back to check)

Also everyone…I am putting KOFXI on Friday instead of Saturday due to the low turnout it had last year at EVO North…so keep that in mind…if you wanna play KOFXI plan to be there Friday!!! (ITS THE FIRST GAME!!!)
