DSP: I’m the shit, Empire sucks, you don’t do anything for the community.
TGFM: You’re a cocky bastard, fuck you, we do lots of stuff for the community.

I am still recovering from getting back last night from Japan, I’m going on minimum sleep and have a ton of work ahead of me, so I apologize in advance if this is short and I missed any questions from my last post. I have some news I need to tell you and we need to focus.
Can I please request that we get this thread back on topic, we need to discuss some important factors for this qual, so please read and respond.
I can understand the trash talk and the hype, the competetive spirit is good, it will just make for a better tourney, but please be respectful of each other, and work together, that’s all I ask.
Canada entry
I have negotiated hard and Canada has obtained preliminary permission to enter, IF CERTAIN conditions are met.
I have the power to allow them to enter, but before I make this decision, I need to tell EVERYONE EVERYTHING UP FRONT SO THIS DOESN’T TURN INTO ANOTHER MISINFORMATION FLAME FEST.
Please read carefully:
The GOOD
I am going on record to say that Canada entering is a good thing. I want everyone to be able to enjoy this fighting game tournament on a full scale level, I want everyone to be able to have fun and have an equal chance of entering. I want the Japanese community to extend the world over, that would be the ultimate goal for everyone in the end, I’m not going to be selfish and “limit” the possibilities of this tourney, for the greater good of TGA. I want the community as a whole to benefit, I want EVERYONE to benefit, I know we all do at the end of the day.
I am here for Canada as much as I am here for Americans or members of any other country, the ultimate dream is for world peace where everyone works together on everything, not just fighting games. World peace through fighting games? That’s another topic for another day, or an ABC Monday Night movie.
Let’s be serious and review and consider the following carefully.
THE GOOD.
If Canada enters, everyone will have more fun, and it will be a better tournament over all.
**
The Bad (que drama, to enter… now!)
**
Ok I can already hear the arguments:
Q: Andy, who are YOU to decide if Canada can enter? Who do you think you are?
A: I was asked to negoitate on behalf of Canada, I did so and did so with success.
I get things done.
NOW, by doing that I, did’t do so with the intention of overstepping SRK, overstepping the “Official” Canadian fighting game rep, or the “West coast” I was asked to do so and I did. So before you start thinking that read on.
SO… in order for this to work here’s what has to happen.
1 I need the Canadian fighting game community to designate “ONE” person for me to talk to and arrange things with, I’m not going to hunt anyone down, I"m not going to talk to 20 different people, get this information to Canada and have them designate ONE persons to contact me at tokyogameaction.com asap, so I can get things rolling.
AFTER I talk to the official rep we will DISCUSS this tournament entry. I will not make any decisions until I talk to…
2 The West coast qualifier. I am not going to effect this decision either way. Out of respect for the West Coast Qualifier (Who I STILL don’t know who it is BTW) I will have US ALL discuss this before a decision is made. If the West Coast Qual and Canada can both come to agreement, I will allow it to happen.
I’m not going to start a TGA and Canada vs West Coast war if a disagreement comes up between the two. I’m not going to listen to, “TGA thinks they are better than everyone esle because they allowed Canada and the West coast didn’t”
If an agreement can’t be reached then it won’t happen, I’m not going to get in the middle of this. I will try hard and do my best, but I’m not going to overstep my bounds.
USA vs CANADA
The American fighting game community needs to make this decision as a whole, BOTH COASTS, whether we are going to be team America or team North America.
It’s going to be up to the community, I’m not making this decision.
I refuse to play these games, and as the president of TGA, I won’t allow my organization to be invovled in them.
So, I’m also not going to listen to, “You took our identity away as team USA because now Canada is allowed to enter”
I DIDN’T ALLOW ANYTHING. I haven’t made any decisions and I WONT, the COMMUNITY WILL.
Whether they enter depends on the above factors. I am JUST THE ONE DELIVERING THE MESSAGE. I OBTAINED PERMISSION FOR THEM TO ENTER IF THE ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE MET.
The deadline is Sunday. Again not MY deadline, I am under the direction of SBO. If I don’t hear back from both parties then there is nothing I can do. I will try my best for everyone, but I’m not making decisions for anyone else BUT TGA.
So, someone get a hold of the West Coast rep, whether it be Mr. Wizard, or the person running the qualifier. If Mr. Wizard can speak for the west coast qual officially before the tournament, have him contact me so we can start this.
TO CANADA, have a rep contact me asap.
Ok everyone good luck. And thanks for your patience. I appreciate everyone’s time and input.
Again I want EVERYONE to enter and have fun. This has to be worked out between the above parties. If we can to that, then we are golden.
I will try my best for you, as always.
Respectfully,
Andy
Young Ic3 posting!
-Beastcoast!
Congrats Canada. You guys deserve this. As for your rep, I say get NagataLock. He did a great job with communications for T6.
Yeah I know…retarded stuff right. Hey its entertainning at the very least. lol.
??? I am not sure who this post is directed to. If it is directed to the Empire, then like I said we’ll take that up later. Let’s focus on TGA/SBO. If its directed towards someone else then…::Shrugs
Hail Ic3. Whats up, when are you coming back to NYC?
So is the qualifer teams or singles or what.
That IS the question, isn’t it?
Also, the issue of Canada really brings a lot of questions to life.
If Canada comes to the TGA quals but gets beaten by Justin/Ricky/??, can they go to another SBO qualifier tournament to attempt to qualify?
If there is a team format, can each player pick the same character or must they pick different ones?
What is the sexual orientation of Ricky Ortiz…really?
Can Pyrolee fly to the east coast to qualify if he wants, or is he forced to enter his own West Coast regional?
Will Marneto ever get rid of that damned stuffed cow?
Have ANY details about the rules of these qualifiers been revealed at all yet? If not, how long do we have to wait to find out??
How many doughnuts can Floe eat without exploding?
i can answer one of those questions marn lost his cow which is really lucky for him cause i had a plan to cownap it from him
haha i was just talking shit. vega kills chun
Not sure. I just brought a car you know…:bluu:
Maybe spring break.
Good stuff, So I know for sure your coming up for Clash then and TGA then.
When’s that?
EDIT: NVM. Maybe. I might come after those days.
I might attend if the qualifier is singles. Honestly, having it as teams undermines the fact that we want the top players to attend. People will arbitrarily team up so that they can fetch a free ticket (ahem, a certain team mentioned in previous posts…). I do understand, however, the hindrance that exists if the format were singles (due to potential duplicate characters in top 3), so having pre-meditated teams isn’t a bizarre format. But I think it’s better to have people commit to 1 character throughout the tournament (as in, who they use is who they will use in case they qualify, barring duplication with another qualifiee), and have it singles.
Any official word on it Andy? Or did the SBO TOs leave it up for the community to decide? (I’m sorry ahead of time if I missed it in a prior posting)
edit: fixed sentence ambiguity
Actually all of TGA’s rules have been decided. Unfortunately I can’t say anything until the West Coast qual and I speak. My goal is for both tournaments to be uniform, and work together. I apologize for the delay, but I trying to do the right thing and wait for a response. I Still don’t know who the west coast qual is and I’m still waiting to hear from them. There could be several reasons for the delay, but I suspect we will hear something soon.
I’m sorry if this is frustrating. I understand because it’s extremely frustrating for me too. I am putting everything at TGA on hold. But, we will have to be patient. it will all be worth it in the end, so just hang in there a little longer.
Thanks
Andy
Nobody cares, lol.
Scared to compete as singles? Everyone loves a free ticket huh?
Hey don’t be mad cause nobody wants you on their team.
3s is not going to be played on xbox live.
Yes, because the 3s comp. over here is just fucking SWARMING that he had no reason to get XBL, right? Good call:confused:
damn. oh shit. nm then, i don’t need to waste time. tks for the clarification. :lovin:
i want US to be sending their best. team format undermines that concept, since the best players may be spread apart different teams. unlike you, i don’t have this massive ego. i don’t think i’d make it to top 3, but i’d go for the singles because it’s another tournament to go to…
btw…didn’t you swear off mongolia? now ride their nuts because of free ticket? afraid of justin? hmmmm…
