Before I reply to anything, I DO want to apologize for the mess in this thread, because this SHOULD be a thread about TGA quals. But since nobody else is talking anyway, and everybody is already hyped, (and nobody wants to team with Cen haha) I guess I’ll make quick comments.
I know exactly what you’ve done. You’ve helped out a very, VERY, VEEERY small percentage of the fighting game community, who live in NYC and surrounding areas, to travel to tournaments. However, all the people you’ve “helped” were already part of that community before you even came on the scene. You have done ZERO…read again closely…ZERO, to promote the growth of the community. All you did, was step into an already established scene at the height of MvC2, and started “recruiting” players who were ALREADY GOOD to your cause. Then you proceeded to shit all over the planet with your Empire Arcadia kiddie crap like it had anything to do with you that Justin or anybody else was good. Give me a fucking break! Name ONE player who is 100% Empire who GOT GOOD because of you? Name ANY players recruited to the scene because of Empire? THERE AREN’T ANY! All of your 100k (I’d love to know where that number came from and where all the money magically came from?) went to nothing and did nothing.

Everybody knows MLG sucks and nobody is saying you did anything bad by cancelling Magfest. But the fact is everybody has been waiting for this huge tournament for years, hoping that Empire might finally make a real impact on the scene besides just throwing around banners and shirts. And the shit fell through…who’s fault is that?

Your “greater gaming community” is 10 times more elitist and inclusive than anything I’ve said. Your Christmas party was for a select few who are in the Empire and apparently live in NYC. If it was an open invitation for the “greater community” maybe there would have been some notice on SRK? What you need to realize is that nobody outside of NYC cares about Empire because Empire only seems to help those in NYC. So why should anybody give a fuck, unless they’re dickriders who want to be part of it?

Oh no, you don’t respect me! That’s great, because I don’t anyone ever really respected you in the first place. While you were busy posting like you live in the middle ages, hyping up your clan, acting like a fool everywhere from Texas Showdown (getting told to shut the fuck up for arguing over basketball) to ECCX, causing a scene wherever you go, making the entire community a laughingstock…THERE WERE OTHER PEOPLE GIVING THEIR TIME, MONEY AND EFFORT TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING TO PROMOTE THE COMMUNITY AND NOT THEMSELVES. People like Phi on the East Coast, Todd Dwyer and Henry Cen back in the day, Jae always with the assist, Ranma and Javi in Texas, Jason Wilson running shit every year at Midwest, Joey Cuellar and the Cannons and the entire old school cast on the West Coast who fucking BLEED Street fighter, THOSE are the people that deserve my fucking respect. They have sacrificed to keep this community alive, and now we have Andy at TGA taking up the reigns. And we appreciate the shit out of that.
You want to shit on people? You want to say people are cheap? DO YOU THINK ANY OF THE PEOPLE I JUST MENTIONED ARE CHEAP? Do you have any idea how much of their own time and money they have donated to make this fighting game community successful? That’s probably something you wouldn’t know anything about, since you seem to do a lot better job hiding behind message boards and acting like an eight year old than doing anything constructive for anyone here on SRK who doesn’t live in your little clique-like group in New York.
The cheap people you’re talking about are a select few who blow their fucking money on drugs. That’s existed at every video game convention, role-playing convention, sci-fi convention, SPORTS convention, fuck in every single event EVER in the history of man. How does that apply to anyone intelligent? Maybe if Street Fighter and other fighting games could become more organized, we could put something together and get MORE people and MORE COMPANIES to actually want to sponsor us to do shit. Fighting games haven’t failed because people blow their money on drugs, they are failing because we can’t put our fucking heads togehter and prove to any companies that we are an established, structured series of events that are consistent and warrant any kind of sponsorship.
In conclusion, you are nothing but the Emperor of a bunch of hypocrites. Your Empire is nothing but an inclusive group of gamers who locate themselves in NYC and really have nothing to do with anything at all besides self-promotion. You have done nothing constructive for this community, because it existed way before you and I guarantee it will exist long after you disappear. Why? Because this community has individuals who are willing to SACRIFICE to keep it alive, becuase we love Street Fighter and the spirit of competition it stands for. We are TRUE competitors who know what it’s like to compete and love that feeling, and won’t let it die. I may joke that I’m the King of Hate, but under it all I’m just trying to keep the one thing that’s been a constant in my life since I was 10 years old alive. I don’t care about the popularity or the drama, as long as 13 years from now I can still attend EVO or ECC or whatever they’re calling it, and let loose, get a few games in, and play the one thing I’ve loved for more than half of my life.
Do us all a favor here at SRK, and don’t post here again. You have your own message board and if you have anything to say, the only people that will care are those in your inclusive group anyway. Stop making a joke of the 99% of the community that knows you are one, and doesn’t want your idiotic antics to rub off on them. Street Fighter will live on without you. Goodbye.
