SBO '06 3rd Strike Qualifier Results

Oh WOW. Ino is back. Straight up out of nowhere and teamed with Mester and Raoh. Thats pretty awesome. Guess Boss being with Mester again this year is a no. Wonder who’ll be on Boss’ team…

wait, where is ino on that page, someone translate, damnit how can i install jap text without windows CD?

ino is the mad skinny looking cvs2 BEAST or the third guy from the left

is he some kind of awesome makoto?

any vids of him in action?

i knew he played makoto but didn’t know he was beast status in 3s too

i’m sure that most people are familiar with him as the greatest k-cammy/blanka/sagat player the world has ever known

Ino went to one of the NEC’s awhile ago (I think NEC 2002), so your best bet is to find anyone with a copy of the NEC DVD they made from that tourney to see Ino’s Makoto take on Justin Wong’s Chun. Or simply find the NEC DVD trailer (don’t ask me, I don’t have it).

Oh yeah, he also got 4th in 3S at Evo2K3 so you can check the Evo2K3 DVD as well…

That’s INO, fucken posing like a mother.

is there an archive of past EVO results?

Is Ino the creepy rockstar-esque looking dude kneeling there?

yes

Shinjuku Sportsland results

Today’s winning team at Shinjuku Sportsland:

OTB - Yun
Boss - Makoto
Match - Akuma

Yes, you are reading this correctly. OTB played Yun, and Boss used Makoto. This was news to me, too.

Did Match really disappear form the recent scene or has everyone just forgot to mention him? I heard so much about his Akuma back in the day and all I could ever find of him was a single .rm file.

I guess he just doesn’t get mentioned too often. I’ve seen him quite often at various tournaments, so he still plays. He was at the Co-op cup a few months back and I saw him at several Newton ranbats. Don’t think he goes to Vision, so that would explain why you guys haven’t seen much.

where are Newton ranbats?

At Game Newton in Itabashi, which is Northwest Tokyo.

Gamer’s Vision on the other hand is in Yokohama, south of Tokyo. The arcades are over an hour apart by train, so he probably just lives closer to Newton and goes to those ranbats instead. I wouldn’t look into it that deeply =P

Whoah. Hold on. Boss using Makoto? Thats a big surprise to me. I’ve never seen him use Makoto before. Kinda makes me sad I won’t be seeing Boss’ Yang beasting it up. This years SBO seems crazy with people switching characters all over the place and the return of Ino. Can’t wait to see what happens next. Keep the updates coming .

I thought OTB always played Yun? Or am I confusing myself…

But Boss playing Makoto is a huge wtf to me, just like a month ago I saw matches of him playing Yun and thought that was his new choice for SBO, but now Makoto, eh? Hmm I’ve never really heard of a Japanese player that switches 2-3 chars, what a guy.

yea otb has always used yun everytime i’ve seen him but boss with makoto wtf

ko switches characters he played like 5 dif ones in the first ksk ranbat

Since Makoto’s 100% stun was found by Boss himself, I’m not too suprised about that choice. Actually, I’m quite interested in seeing his Makoto at work

All of boss’s characters:yang, yun, makoto, akuma, ken, ryu, and chun li are devastating.

IMO Boss is the player who has the most impressive list of tournament-worthy characters than anyone else. Or in his words “I am a genius ^_^”

OTB always played yun when I met him and he’s very strong too.

Match told me last time he is in medical school studying very hard on becoming a doctor and has put that as his first priority rather than 3s.
